Release notes for August 28, 2022
Version 5.11.9
New and enhanced features
-
Support for VDI Host auto-update functionality
Users have the option to check for updates for the VDI Zoom Meeting client installed in the virtual desktop and update as soon as a new release is available. When users check for an update and a newer release is available, the user will be provided with information about the new update (such as release notes) and the option to download and install the update. Previously, the VDI Zoom Meeting Client did not allow users the ability to check for updates and set a preference for an update channel. This feature is disabled by default and requires administrators to enable a policy. -
Logi Dock camera HID support
When users install the Logi Tune app, the Zoom Meeting client can control video mute through the button on the Logi Dock camera.
Note: HID support for the Logi Dock camera requires connecting the camera before starting Zoom. The Logi Dock camera HID functionality does not support “hot swap,” where the device is connected while Zoom is running. -
Store local device selections for the thin client
When users switch between two or more computers to access their remote desktop, their preferred devices are saved for each computer used to connect to the desktop. Devices selected by the user are stored locally, allowing any number of computers to each store the preferences for the devices attached. -
Configure Zoom Phone e911 address for fallback mode
When emergency services cannot be provided with a reliable location for a user (when a virtual desktop is being used in fallback mode), the user can enter a new address and/or confirm their location based on a previously submitted address. If an address is not provided, the user will be informed that their location will not be provided to emergency services in the event they call 911 with Zoom Phone. -
Prevent VDI Meeting Client Installer from installing an older release
The VDI Meeting Installer can detect if an existing Zoom Meeting client is already installed and if the previously installed package is a newer version. When users try to install an older release of the VDI Zoom Meeting client, an error message will appear. This feature prevents users from accidentally downgrading to an older release or installing a VDI version on top of an existing installation of the regular Zoom Meeting client. -
Indonesian language support
The Zoom client and Zoom web portal now support Indonesian language.
