Release notes for March 13, 2022
Changes to existing features
-
New registry option to disable file transfer for debug logs
Zoom has added a registry key that can be used to disable the ability for the Zoom VDI Tool to pull debug logs from the remote client. Customers who want to prevent or limit external files from being transferred can disable the option using this registry option. When the registry key has been added to disable file transfer, the Zoom VDI Tool will be unable to pull the debug logs from the remote client. This setting can be added as an HKLM configuration for the primary configuration and then optionally entered for a specific user as an HKCU to override the general configuration when specific debug requirements are needed to pull logs for troubleshooting. -
Attendee Reactions
This release of the Zoom VDI Meeting Client includes support for a new Zoom Webinars feature that can display attendee reactions during the presentation. For the VDI client, the feature is limited to the ability to view reactions horizontally along the lower bottom of the user’s meeting or hide reactions from general view. -
Breakout Rooms
This release of the VDI client provides compatibility with breakout rooms where administrators have enabled the ability to create, remove, and rename rooms while existing rooms are open.
New and enhanced features
-
7x7 Gallery View support
In the Zoom VDI Client video settings, users can now select 25 or 49 maximum participants to be displayed per screen in Gallery View. The option for 49 maximum participants is only enabled when users are running on a machine capable of displaying the additional video streams. -
Concurrent (simultaneous) meeting support
Users can now join a second meeting. The first meeting will use the VDI plugin to offload the media. The second meeting will use fallback mode. This feature will be supported for all VDI platforms (Citrix, VMware, and Azure Virtual Desktop) and plugins. -
Pause meeting on lock
When a workstation is locked by a user or automatic timer, or a VDI session is disconnected, the Zoom meeting audio and video will be muted and paused. If a user unlocks their workstation in a short time (e.g 30 seconds), then the meeting’s audio and video will return to their previous states. -
Prevent screen lock on thin client for meeting and phone
All thin clients, or any computer used to connect to a virtual desktop, are prevented from going into sleep, screen saver or screen lock mode during an active Zoom meeting or Zoom Phone session. -
macOS uninstaller added to installation package
The macOS uninstaller will be installed into users' local macOS file system. This will allow users or administrators to uninstall the VDI plugin without requiring downloading and unpacking the package to locate the uninstall application. -
Add VDI Tool version number to the About dialog
Users can now view the VDI Tool’s installed version number from the About dialog box. -
Mac installer changed to a .pkg file
If the uninstaller is needed, use Finder and navigate to /Applications/ZoomVDIUninstaller.app and double click the file. Alternatively, run this command on Terminal:
sudo /Applications/ZoomVDIUninstaller.app/Contents/MacOS/ZoomVDIUninstaller --silent
