Once a Team Chat Hybrid module has been deployed, the Team Chat message residency and retention will need to be configured for on-premise.

How to enable or disable message residency for Team Chat Hybrid
Account
To enable or disable Set data residency and retention period for messages and files for all users in the account:
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal as an admin with the privilege to edit account settings.
- In the navigation menu, click Account Management then Account Settings.
- Click the Team Chat tab.
- Under Storage, click the Set data residency and retention period for messages and files toggle to enable or disable it.
- If a verification dialog displays, click Enable or Disable to verify the change.
- Under Select residency, select On-Prem (Zoom Node - Team Chat Hybrid).
- Set the retention periods under Set retention period for direct messages and group conversations and Set retention period for channels.
Note: By default, the storage retention period for messages is 2 years, but account owners and admins can change this length of time to as short as 1 day or up to 10 years. - (Optional) To prevent all users in your account from changing this setting, click the lock icon , and then click Lock to confirm the setting.
Group
To enable or disable Set data residency and retention period for messages and files for a group of users:
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal as an admin with the privilege to edit groups.
- In the navigation menu, click User Management then Groups.
- Click the applicable group name from the list.
- Click the Team Chat tab.
- Under Storage, click the Set data residency and retention period for messages and files toggle to enable or disable it.
- If a verification dialog displays, click Enable or Disable to verify the change.
Note: If the option is grayed out, it has been locked at the account level and needs to be changed at that level. - Under Select residency, select On-Prem (Zoom Node - Team Chat Hybrid).
- Set the retention periods under Set retention period for direct messages and group conversations and Set retention period for channels.
