Release notes for December 17, 2023
New and enhanced features
- Admin features
- Troubleshoot issues directly from alerts
Devices & Phones Management has undergone a name change to become Phones & Devices Management. In the alert log, account owners and admins now have the capability to initiate troubleshooting directly from an alert notification by simply clicking on a hyperlink. However, note that admins without the Power Pack license will not be able to view Call Queues alert links. The following guidelines outline how alerts will function:
- In the case of an alert within Call Queue Management, admins will be directed to the Real-time analytics reports for the corresponding call queue.
- Alerts within Phones & Devices Management will guide admins to the Hardware Phones & Devices dashboard, which encompasses all devices, addressing both account-level issues and specific site concerns as needed.
- Should an alert relate to Call Quality Management, admins will be taken to the Quality of Service Overall dashboard.
- For alerts categorized under SBC Management, admins will find themselves on the SBCs dashboard, with the relevant SBC highlighted on the heatmap and reports.
- Enhancement to Phones & Devices dashboard
The Phones & Devices dashboard now includes Zoom Phone Appliances, providing account owners and admins with comprehensive information on appliance assignment, enrollment, and a detailed device list. - Bulk update desk phones Keys and Positions
Account owners and admins can make bulk updates to the Keys and Positions configured for speed dials, busy lamp fields, or other features of their desk phones using a CSV file. This feature is designed to assist admins in efficiently managing their devices by facilitating quick administration tasks. - Enhancement to New View Call Logs
Account owners and admins can view warm transfer calls by users when the warm transfer is completed. Admins can discern the moments when the call was put on hold, taken off hold, its inbound or outbound nature, the number type and extension, and the user responsible for disconnecting the call. - Add Zoom Phone numbers to Microsoft Teams
Account owners and administrators can include phone numbers in Microsoft Teams Call queues, Auto Receptionists, and Common Areas devices. They can designate users as members of a Zoom Call Queue, providing them with the authority to handle incoming calls directed to that specific queue. If the "Answer in Zoom" feature is activated, calls are addressed on the Zoom platform instead of Microsoft. Admins are able to synchronize users with mismatched email and UPN, along with those having Microsoft Teams Rooms Pro and Shared Devices Microsoft licenses. Additionally, admins can establish an emergency policy for users with a US/CA phone number. Any modifications in Microsoft Teams, such as altering an extension, will prompt a notification to sync the data in Zoom. - Emergency call greeting customization
When disabling emergency services within their account, account owners and admins have the option to personalize the greeting prompt played when their users attempt to initiate an emergency call. - Video intercom
Video intercom calling scenarios are now supported between 2N devices and Desk Phones capable of video. Account owners and admins can enable the Allow Video Intercom feature in the web portal to allow users to place a video call from the 2N device to a desk phone. DTMF passthrough is also supported for 2N trigger events such as unlocking door mechanisms. Beware that only video intercom scenarios are supported, specifically limited to communication between 2N devices and desk phones. No other video scenarios are supported. Features such as call recording and call transfer are not compatible with video intercom and will not work even if enabled for an extension. You can submit a request to Zoom Support to enable this feature for your account.
