Assigning polls and quizzes to specific meetings or webinars


Administrators can allow users to assign polls and quizzes to specific meetings or webinars, which means that polls and quizzes do not have to be recreated if a meeting host grants scheduling privileges to another user. Polls and quizzes created for specific meetings or webinars will not be available in the account library and can only be used for the specific session they were created for.

How to allow users to assign polls and quizzes to specific meetings or webinars

  1.  Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
  2.  Click Account Management, then click Account Settings.
  3.  Click In Meeting (Basic) on the left, and scroll to Meeting Polls/Quizzes.
  4.  Check the box next to Allow host to create meeting polls and quizzes, and click Save

How to assign polls and quizzes to specific meetings

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
  2. In the navigation menu, click Meetings.
  3. Click the name of the meeting you want to add a poll/quiz to, or click the Schedule a Meeting button to schedule a new meeting.
  4. If you are editing an existing meeting, click the Polls/Quizzes tab. If you are scheduling a new meeting, click Save, then click the Polls/Quizzes tab.
  5. Click + Create
  6. Click the title Untitled Poll... to give the poll/quiz a name.
  7. Review the question types and configuration options, then select the question type for the first question.
  8. (Optional) Click the toggle  next to Make it a quiz.
  9. (Optional) Click the Create Breakout Rooms toggle if you want to enable breakout room creation based on poll results.
  10. (Optional) Click + Add Question to add another question to the poll/quiz.
  11. (Optional) Click gear icon at the top right to configure the following options:
    • Require answers to be anonymous
  12. (Optional) Click the preview icon  to see a preview.
  13. (Optional) Click the ellipses icon at the top right to Save as draft.
  14. Click Save, then click Save as meeting poll or Save as meeting quiz.
    This saves the poll/quiz to the specific meeting. 

How to assign polls and quizzes to specific webinars

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
  2. In the navigation menu, click Webinars.
  3. Click the name of the webinar you want to add a poll to or click the Schedule a Webinar button to schedule a new webinar.
  4. If you are editing an existing webinar, scroll to the bottom of the page and click the Polls/Quizzes tab. If you are scheduling a new webinar, click Save, then scroll to the bottom of the page and click the Polls/Quizzes tab. 
  5. Click + Create
  6. Click the title Untitled Poll... to give the poll/quiz a name.
  7. Review the question types and configuration options, then select the question type for the first question.
  8. (Optional) Click the toggle  next to Make it a quiz.
  9. (Optional) Click + Add Question to add another question to the poll. 
  10. (Optional) Click gear icon at the top right to configure the following options:
    • Require answers to be anonymous
  11. (Optional) Click the preview icon  to see a preview.
  12. (Optional) Click the ellipses icon at the top right to Save as draft.
  13. Click Save, then click Save as webinar poll or Save as webinar quiz.
    This saves the poll/quiz to the specific webinar.
