Changes to existing features

• Profanity filter general availability
  The transcription profanity filter, initially launched in Beta last August 2023, is leaving Beta and is generally available for customers. The profanity filter prevents transcription from displaying inappropriate words. Account owners and admins can import widely available 3rd party lists, eliminating the need to manually curate offensive words, and enabling easy customization according to their organization's needs. This filter applies to all Zoom products utilizing transcription services, including Meetings, Webinars, Smart Summaries, and Recordings. This will be enabled for most customers with this release, with remaining customers having this enabled a few weeks later.

• Administrator features
  • AI Companion Dashboard 
    Account admins can view daily, weekly, and monthly AI Companion usage analytics for their account in the AI Companion tab of the Dashboard. Admins can see how many users on their account have used Meeting Summary, Questions, Team Chat Thread Summary, and Chat Compose features, as well as how many interactions users have had with those features (how many summaries, how many messages composed by AI Companion). Admins can also view the top 10 AI Companion users on their account. 
  • Migrate contacts from Gmail to Zoom Mail
    Account owners and admins can migrate contacts from Gmail to Zoom Mail.
  • Account-level alias management
    In the Mailbox Management section on the Zoom web portal, account owners and admins can create, edit, delete, and manage settings for email aliases for all users on their account.
  • SMTP relay configuration
    Account owners and admins can configure Zoom Mail Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) relay on the Zoom web portal.
  • New admin setting for Survey Library
    A new setting has been added to allow account owners and admins to enable or disable the Survey library in the User Menu for users within their organization. When the Use surveys library to manage surveys, polls, and quizzes setting is disabled, the surveys library won’t be available for managing surveys, polls, and quizzes.
  • Allow host to attach Poll to meeting or webinar instance
    Account owners and admins can enable or disable the Allow host to create meeting polls and quizzes setting for all users within their account. If enabled, users can attach polls to a meeting or webinar instance. Additionally, users can save a copy of polls attached to a meeting or webinar to their Personal Library. This setting is available at the account level and is disabled by default.
  • Screen Sharing Presenter View: Admin control
    The new presenter layout combines a user’s video and shared screen to present everything in one frame. Admins can enable or disable this feature at the account, group, and user levels.
  • Admin control of external users in group chats and channels
    Admins can control whether or not their users can add external users to group chats and channels and join external group chats and channels with two separate settings. Additionally, admins can specify who in the group chat or channel can add external users, selecting from everyone in the channel (including external users, if they exist), only internal users, or only account admins and owners. This only affects group chats and channels, and has no effect on 1:1 chats or continuous meeting chats. Changes to these account-level settings will affect the corresponding channel level settings, both when viewed in the Zoom app by the channel owner or when viewed through Channel Management in the web portal by the account owner/admin.External users already in group chats and channels when settings become more restrictive will remain in the channel, but going forward, the new settings will be followed. When using a link to a channel or chat message that they do not have access to, users will encounter an error indicating the channel cannot be found. This feature will not be immediately available, as it is dependent on a backend release currently scheduled for January 28, 2024. 
  • Auto-archive channel or group chats: Admin control
    Account owners and admins can choose to auto-archive chat channels, group chats, and continuous meeting chats after a given number of days, weeks, or months of inactivity. These settings are available at the Account level.
• User features
  • Attach Poll to meeting or webinar instance
    If the Allow host to create meeting polls and quizzes setting is enabled by admins, users can attach polls to a meeting or webinar instance and save a copy of polls attached to a meeting or webinar to their Personal Library.
  • Additional supported languages for automated captions: Cantonese and Thai
    Automated and translated captioning support is expanding to include captioning for Cantonese and Thai languages. These are enabled by default, but admins can control the availability of this language through the Automated captions and Translated captions settings within the web portal.
  • English to Greek support for translated captions
    Accounts using the translated captions feature will be able to have automated captions translated from English to Greek, facilitating easier communication between participants in Zoom Meetings. This language is enabled by default, but admins can control availability of this through settings in the web portal.
  • Ability to sign-in and switch between multiple accounts
    Users can sign in to multiple accounts and switch between them in the web portal. They can do this without going through the sign-out and sign-in process, allowing for a more efficient and seamless experience. Previously, they could only sign in to multiple accounts and switch between them using their desktop and mobile client (version 5.16.10 or higher).

  • Improved global product navigation for Zoom desktop client - Windows, macOS, Linux
    Free account users will have greater control of the product tabs shown on the Zoom desktop client, having greater flexibility over display order and which product tabs are always visible or hidden within the More option. This will initially be available for free accounts, with users on paid accounts getting this functionality in another later release.
  • Support cloud contacts on mobile - Android, iOS
    For a unified experience, contacts imported from O365/Google/Exchange through the web portal are supported on the Zoom mobile app. Users can view the imported contacts under My Contacts then Cloud Contacts the same way they can on the desktop client. Previously, contacts imported from O365/Google/Exchange through the web portal only appeared in the desktop client.
  • Additional MSI/PLIST/GPO/MDM options
    • Disable assigning manual captioning typist - DisableAssignTypist - Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS
      Disabled by default, admins can enable this policy to disable the ability for users to assign a participant the role of manually entering captions. This does not affect the use of automated captions or captions provided by a third-party service.
    • Disable P2P STUN traffic - DisableP2PStunTraffic - Windows, macOS
      Disabled by default, admins can enable this policy to disable P2P STUN traffic from the Zoom app. This traffic is the Zoom app checking if admin web settings allow for P2P meetings on the network.
• Meeting/webinar features
  • Screen share presenter layout - Windows, macOS, Linux
    Meeting users wanting a more engaging sharing session can utilize this new presenter layout, which combines your video and shared screen to present everything in one frame. Presenters have a few different layout options, ranging from having the content appear over-the-shoulder of your video, the presenter appearing in front of the content, or the presenter and the content appearing side-by-side. These options are available in the sharing window where users can select what they want to share, the layout of their video and the shared content, and a common virtual background for both you and the content. Admins can also control the use of this through web settings available at the account, group, and user-level settings pages.
  • Automated captioning and translated caption support for Cantonese and Thai - Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS
    Automated and translated captioning support is expanding to include captioning for Cantonese and Thai languages. These are enabled by default, but admins can control the availability of this language through the Automated captions and Translated captions settings within the web portal.

    The Team Chat Quick Schedule with AI Companion simplifies meeting scheduling in chats using AI technology, eliminating the need to switch between different applications to coordinate and schedule a meeting. When activated, the system identifies potential meeting scenarios in chat messages and streamlines the scheduling process to boost productivity.
  • Restrict channel posting to replies only - Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS
    In addition to restricting who can post in a channel, channel admins can choose to allow all other channel members to post, but only as a reply to a message. This provides announcement channels with only threaded replies, keeping discussions focused on the announcements provided by approved posters.
  • Drafts and sent messages panel - Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS
    The Drafts section in the left side panel for Team Chat will be renamed to Drafts and Sent and include a dedicated section for Sent Messages, helping users quickly find messages they sent.
  • Manual and auto-archive channels, group chats, and continuous meeting chats - Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS
    Channel, group chat, and continuous meeting chat owners can manually archive their unused chat channels, group chats, and continuous meeting chats. When these are archived, they are closed to new activity, but the message history is retained and searchable, allowing members to continue to access messages, files, and other information if needed again in the future. These chats can also be unarchived if the discussion needs to be re-opened. Admins can also set auto-archive policies from the web portal.
  • Read receipts for messages - Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS
    The latest sent message in a 1:1 chat or small group chat or channel (20 members max) can show read receipts of who has read the message so far. Visibility of read receipts can potentially be disabled through the Team Chat section of client settings, if allowed by admins.
• Mail and Calendar features
  • Support for document preview in the Zoom Mail client - Windows, macOS, Linux 
    Users can preview documents that are attached to emails in the Zoom Mail client. PDF, image files, and all other file formats are supported for document preview.
  • Select the color of Zoom Calendar events - Windows, macOS, Linux 
    The Zoom Calendar client supports labeling an event with colors. Zoom and Google calendar service clients support this feature.
    Note: This feature is not supported by Microsoft/Outlook.
  • Display attendee profile card when adding an event attendee - Windows, macOS, Linux 
    When an event organizer adds an attendee to an event, the attendee’s profile card will be displayed so that the event organizer can view their contact details.
  • Add a warning label to Zoom Calendar event card when an attendee declined the invite - Windows, macOS, Linux 
    When all attendees have declined a meeting, the event organizer will see a warning label in Zoom Calendar. The warning label will not appear when only a few attendees have declined the meeting.
  • Decline and remove invited meetings - Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS 
    Users can decline and remove invited meetings so that they no longer appear in the meetings list on the Zoom client’s Meetings tab.
  • Adjust font size in Zoom Mail - Windows, macOS, Linux 
    Users can adjust the font size by choosing Small, Medium, or Large. When users zoom in and out of Zoom Mail, the font size will automatically adjust.
• Phone features
  • Voicemail transcription support for French - Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS
    Users have the option to switch their voicemail transcriptions to French and establish it as their default language. By default, voicemail transcriptions are in English.
  • Common Area support for Android phones - Android
    Zoom clients running on Android smartphones are now supported as common area devices, allowing users to receive calls and initiate emergency phone calls without device sign-in.
• Zoom Clips features
  • Presenter immersive view in shared screen - Windows, macOS
    The presenter's video can now seamlessly integrate with the content presented in their clips through the immersive view feature.
  • Ability to tag in comments - Windows, macOS
    In Zoom Clips comments, users have the option to mention other commenters by typing @username. This action highlights the mentioned individual's name and triggers a notification for them. Commenters can tag specific individuals or everyone authorized to view the clip. Furthermore, individuals who haven't been authorized to view a clip cannot be tagged in a comment.
• Contact Center features
  • Saved Replies - Windows, macOS
    Saved Replies allow agents to respond faster to common questions by inserting pre-written responses into their messaging engagements (SMS, web chat, in-app chat, Facebook). Agents can quickly insert replies using shortcuts or the reply assistant.
  • Toggle callers during warm transfers - Windows, macOS
    During a warm voice call transfer, agents and supervisors can easily alternate between the original caller and the transfer recipient before completing the warm transfer. This provides a seamless way to get information from either party during the warm transfer process.
  • Enhanced outbound call error notification - Windows, macOS
    The notification message for unanswered or unconnected outbound calls provide more context about why the call did not complete based on the SIP response code received. Agents see the enhanced notification in the language they have set in their Zoom desktop client. Previously, a generic English message was displayed.

Changes to existing features

• Move Create Notifications to the top of the Notifications Settings page
  The Create Notifications option is moved to the top of the Notifications Settings page. Previously, it was located at the bottom of the Notifications Settings page.
• Increase maximum number of hosts for team schedules from 20 to 30 hosts
  The limit of the maximum number of hosts on a team schedule event is increased from 20 hosts to 30 hosts.
• Define vanity URLs at the account level
  Zoom Scheduler-enabled vanity URLs are defined at the account level. Those without vanity URLs will be defined at the global level. This change may result in previously shared booking links becoming invalid for users who have activated vanity URLs. Previously, Zoom Scheduler added functionality of vanity URLs for hosts, allowing them to customize the host with a hostname defined in their account.

  • Delegate groups of users
    Account owners and admins can delegate groups of users to manage selected areas of their Zoom Scheduler account while restricting access to other areas. The delegated group admins can view booking pages that are assigned to them. Account owners and admins can give access to these groups for a set period/time and can revoke access at any time.

    E-911 features are available when using BYOD mode. This feature is not supported on Crestron Windows devices.
