Configuring and using personalized audio isolation
Users can enable the Personalized audio isolation audio profile, which aims to better differentiate your voice and suppress background noise, even in open environments.
For users who elect to enable personal audio isolation, Zoom will collect an automatic voiceprint from meetings that the user joins to enhance their voice in meetings and suppress background noise. This automatic voiceprint will be stored locally on the user’s device until they delete it, which they can do at any time in their audio settings.
To further improve background noise suppression, users can also choose to make a short voiceprint recording of themselves reading a Zoom-provided script. The reference voiceprint recording will be analyzed by Zoom and used together with the automatic voiceprint to further improve voice isolation in the user’s meetings. The reference voiceprint recording will be stored by Zoom until the user deletes it, which they can do at any time in their audio settings.

Differences when using personalized audio isolation with and without a voiceprint recording
Personalized audio isolation can help filter out background noise, and is more effective if the user elects to create a voiceprint recording. Below details some of the differences between using personalized audio isolation with and without a voiceprint recording.
- Without a voiceprint recording: Personalized audio isolation helps in an open environment where background talkers may be heard, and the meeting participant uses a headset mic.
- With a voiceprint recording: Personalized audio isolation with a voiceprint recording helps in an open environment where background talkers may be heard, and the meeting participant uses either a headset mic or a non-headset mic, such as a built-in laptop mic.
When personalized audio isolation is selected during a meeting, a non-headset mic is detected, and the user has not created a voiceprint recording, standard Zoom background noise removal will automatically be used.
