Enabling Team SMS thread summary with AI Companion
Admins can control the use of the Team SMS thread summary with AI Companion feature for their accounts. This feature uses AI technology, which may include third-party models, and allows Zoom Phone members of a call queue or auto-receptionist to summarize their SMS threads to quickly understand a conversation and generate their response.

Requirements for enabling or disabling Team SMS thread summary with AI Companion
- A Zoom Pro, Business, or Enterprise account
- Account owner or admin privileges with the ability to modify settings at the appropriate levels
- Zoom Phone paid and Power Pack licenses in the account
Note: AI Companion may not be available for select verticals and select regional customers.
Limitations of Team SMS thread summary with AI Companion
- This feature is not supported for individual or group SMS at this time.
How to enable and disable Team SMS thread summary with AI Companion
Account owners and admins can enable or disable Team SMS thread summary with AI Companion for the entire account, sites, call queues, and auto receptionists.
Account
To enable or disable Team SMS thread summary with AI Companion for all users in the account:
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal as an admin with the privilege to edit account settings.
- In the navigation menu, click Account Management then Account Settings.
- Click the Zoom Phone tab.
- Under AI Companion, click the Team SMS thread summary with AI Companion toggle to enable or disable it.
- If a verification dialog appears, click Enable or Disable to verify the change.
- (Optional) To prevent all users in your account from changing this setting, click the lock icon
, and then click Lock to confirm the setting.
Site
To enable or disable Team SMS thread summary with AI Companion for a site:
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal as an admin with the privilege to edit sites.
- In the navigation menu, click Phone System Management then Company Info.
- Click the applicable site name from the list.
- Click the Policy tab.
- Under AI Companion, click the Team SMS thread summary with AI Companion toggle to enable or disable it.
- If a verification dialog appears, click Enable or Disable to verify the change.
Note: If the option is grayed out, it has been locked at the account level and needs to be changed at that level. - (Optional) To prevent all users in your account from changing this setting, click the lock icon

Call Queues
To enable or disable Team SMS thread summary with AI Companion for a call queue:
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal as an admin with the privilege to edit call queues.
- In the navigation menu, click Phone System Management then Call Queues.
- Click the applicable call queue name from the list.
- Click the Policy tab.
- Under AI Companion, click the Team SMS thread summary with AI Companion toggle to enable or disable it.
- If a verification dialog appears, click Enable or Disable to verify the change.

Auto Receptionists

- Click the applicable auto receptionist name from the list.
- Click the Policy tab.
- Under AI Companion, click the Team SMS thread summary with AI Companion toggle to enable or disable it.
- If a verification dialog appears, click Enable or Disable to verify the change.
Note: If the option is grayed out, it has been locked at the account level and needs to be changed at that level.
