Configuring Zoom Phone with PCI Pal


Zoom Phone provides tools designed to support our customers in adhering to payment card industry (PCI) compliance with the PCI Pal integration when utilized appropriately. This integration, which enables customers to take credit card payments over a Zoom Phone call securely, provides enhanced security, protects sensitive payment information, and facilitates adherence to applicable industry regulations and requirements, such as the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS). The convenience of PCI Pal’s integration with Zoom Phone simplifies deployment and management for your organization.

Additionally, payments are retrieved and processed directly by PCI Pal, enabling secure and efficient payment transactions during calls or chats while prioritizing data security and customer experience.

How to install the PCI Pal app from the Zoom App Marketplace

The PCI Pal app must be installed on your account and configured so the setup process is completed for the Zoom account to be integrated with your PCI Pal accounts.

  1. Sign in to the Zoom App Marketplace.
  2. In the top-right corner of the page, search for PCI Pal.
  3. Click the PCI Pal Secure Payments app.
    You will be directed to the app's details page.
  4. At the bottom of the app details page, click Configure.
  5. Enter the information as requested.
    Note: This information will need to be requested from the PCI Pal team.
  6. Click Save.

How to enable the phone numbers for PCI Pal integration

PCI Pal integration and PCI compliance rely heavily on the phone numbers that are being used for this integration. Phone numbers that are available on your account might not be capable of integration with PCI Pal. Follow the steps below to validate if the numbers on your account are PCI-ready.

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal as an admin with the privilege to edit account settings.
  2. In the navigation menu, click Phone System Management then Phone Numbers.
  3. Click the Assigned or Unassigned tab.
    Phone numbers that are PCI-ready and can be integrated with PCI Pal will have the payment icon  next to them.
  4. If the account does not have PCI-ready numbers, submit a request to have PCI-ready numbers added to the account.
    Note: In certain cases, additional Know Your Customer (KYC) documentation must be provided to procure PCI-ready numbers.

How to use the PCI Pal integration with Zoom Phone

Account owners and admins can enable their users to use the Zoom PCI Pal app when capturing payments. Learn more about how to add Marketplace Apps as an admin.

Once the app is installed, Zoom Phone users can use this app during a phone call to capture payments.

Note: Users must open the Zoom PCI Pal app from the Zoom Phone tab in the Zoom desktop app. For users to be able to see the app's icon in the Zoom Phone tab, submit a request to Zoom Support to have this enabled for Zoom Phone.

How to use desk phones with PCI Pal integration

Users can utilize desk phones to capture payments without using the Zoom PCI Pal app with the DTMF method. To enable the DTMF method:

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal as an admin with the privilege to edit account settings.
  2. In the navigation menu, click Phone System Management then Company Info.
  3. At the top of the page, click Account Settings.
  4. Under Desk Phone, locate the Customize * and # Codes setting.
  5. Under Customize * and # Codes, add the DTMF code.
    This code will be used to start the media redirection process to PCI Pal.
  6. Ensure that the DTMF that you select does not conflict with existing DTMF codes that are configured on the account.
    The region selection will be determined based on where your PCI Pal account is located.
