Assigning multiple extensions to Algo devices
Account owners and admins can assign up to 30 extensions to Algo paging adapters and devices and specify the extension type (ringer, pager, intercom) for each line. This configuration is automatically sent to the device, eliminating the need for manual setup on the Algo device.

How to access the Extension Assignment tab for Algo devices
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal as an admin with the privilege to edit account settings.
- In the navigation menu, click Phone System Management then Phones & Devices.
- Click the display name of the Algo device you want to manage.
- Click the Extension Assignment tab.
The Algo device's extension assignments will appear.
How to assign multiple extensions to Algo paging adapters and devices
- Access the Extension Assignment tab in the Zoom web portal.
- In the top-left corner of the page, click Add.
A pop-up window will appear. - In the window, click the Users or Common Area tab.
- Specify or select the user or common area phone.
- Click Next.
- Add an extension assignment:
- Under Assignment Type, click the dropdown menu and select from the Page Extension, Ring Extension, Emergency Alert, or Call to Cancel options.
Note: If all ports of one assignment type are taken (before the admin adds new assignments), the Ring Extension and Call to Cancel options will be unavailable. - View the information under the Assigned To, Extension Type, and Key Assignment columns.
- (Optional) To the right of the row you want to delete, click Remove.
- Repeat to add more extension assignments.
- Click Save.
The extension assignments will appear on the Extension Assignment tab.
Notes:
- Only extensions at the same site as this device can be selected.
- Extension positions of each assignment type will be automatically assigned based on the next available line. After making changes, the device will be resynced.
How to edit extension assignments
Edit one extension assignment
- Access the Extension Assignment tab in the Zoom web portal.
- To the right of an extension you want to manage, click the ellipsis , then click Edit.
A pop-up window will appear. - In the window, edit the extension.
- Click Save.
Edit multiple extension assignments
- Access the Extension Assignment tab in the Zoom web portal.
- To the left of multiple extensions you want to manage, select the checkboxes.
- (Optional) Select the Assignment Type checkbox to select all extensions.
- In the top-left corner of the page, click Edit.
A pop-up window will appear. - In the window, edit the extensions.
- Click Save.
How to unassign extension assignments
Unassign one extension assignment
- Access the Extension Assignment tab in the Zoom web portal.
- To the right of an extensions you want to manage, click the ellipsis , then click Unassign.
A confirmation window will appear. - In the window, click Unassign.
The extension will be unassigned from the Algo device.
Unassign multiple extension assignments
- Access the Extension Assignment tab in the Zoom web portal.
- To the left of multiple extensions you want to manage, select the checkboxes.
- (Optional) Select the Assignment Type checkbox to select all extensions.
- In the top-left corner of the page, click Unassign.
A confirmation window will appear. - In the window, click Unassign.
The extensions will be unassigned from the Algo device.
How to enable or disable multicast mode
Enable multicast mode if your device is configured as a multicast transmitter.
Note: This will not configure any multicast settings on the device itself and the device's documentation should be consulted for multicast zone definitions.
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal as an admin with the privilege to edit account settings.
- In the navigation menu, click Phone System Management then Phones & Devices.
- Click the display name of the Algo device you want to manage.
- Click the Policy tab.
- Click the Multicast toggle to enable or disable it.
- If a verification dialog appears, click Enable or Disable to verify the change.
Once multicast mode is enabled, the Zoom Phone user assignment mapping will correspond to the Algo extension mapping in multicast mode.
