Release notes for June 16, 2024
Changes to existing features
- Rename SIP Zones in the Zoom web portal
Account owners and admins can view updated SIP Zone names in the admin Zoom web portal. The names have been changed to include the specific data center location for each SIP Zone. For example, US West (N. California 3) has been renamed to US West (SJC1), indicating the SIP Zone is located in the San Jose, California data center. - Zoom Phone Walkthrough available for 1-40 and 50+ seat licenses
The Zoom Phone walkthrough, which provides guided help for setting up Zoom Phone, is available for Zoom Phone administrators. Zoom Phone account owners and administrators can use the walkthrough in the Zoom web portal. This enables more customers to quickly and easily set up Zoom Phone. Previously, the walkthrough was only available to a limited number of customers.
New and enhanced features
- Admin features
- Private call park support for user groups and common area access groups
Account owners and admins can create private call park locations for user groups and common area access groups. They can also create a custom group of users when setting up their private call park group in the Zoom web portal. Users in these groups can park an active call and receive a retrieval code or pre-defined line key to resume the call from any device in the same group.
Note: This feature is only available for members from a single site at this time. This feature must be enabled by Zoom. - Manage speech recognition for IVR navigation
Account owners and admins can enable speech recognition for navigating IVR menus. Admins can also manage IVR speech recognition settings in the Zoom web portal. This feature allows callers to navigate IVR menus using voice commands instead of pressing keys on their phone. The speech recognition capability understands English language commands and provides a more natural and convenient way for callers to interact with the IVR system. - Prevent iOS native call interruptions for Zoom Phone VoIP calls
Account owners and admins can enable an option to always use CallKit for iOS devices when making Zoom Phone calls. When enabled, incoming native calls on the iOS device will not interrupt ongoing Zoom Phone VoIP calls. This improves the call experience for users by preventing disruptions during important calls. This feature must be enabled by Zoom.
Note: This feature will not be immediately available, as it is dependent on the client release currently scheduled for June 17, 2024. - Enable or disable the Monitoring setting
Account owners and admins can enable or disable the Monitoring setting in the Zoom web portal. This setting is generally available and enabled by default at the account level. When enabled, this feature allows users to listen, whisper, barge, or take over calls from other users, common areas, call queues, and shared line groups.
- Analytics features
- Enhanced call logs and reporting for Zoom Phone and Zoom Contact Center integration
Account owners and admins can view detailed call logs and reports for calls transferred between Zoom Phone and Zoom Contact Center. The call logs display information such as the call path, extension types, and number formats for both Zoom Phone and Zoom Contact Center. Admins can filter and export call logs based on specific criteria. This feature provides a comprehensive view of the integration between Zoom Phone and Zoom Contact Center, enabling better monitoring and analysis of call routing.
- Client features
- Post-quantum end-to-end encryption support for Zoom Phone
Users can enable post-quantum end-to-end encryption (PQ-E2EE) for Zoom Phone calls. When enabled, users are notified that their call is "Post quantum end-to-end encrypted". As users update their Zoom desktop and mobile app to version 6.1.0 or higher, all end-to-end encrypted calls will start leveraging our latest post-quantum end-to-end encryption protocol. If PQ E2EE is unsupported by any participant's device, the call will default to standard end-to-end encryption (E2EE) when enabled. PQ E2EE in Zoom Phone is designed to withstand the threat of an adversary who can capture encrypted network traffic, hoping to acquire a quantum computer in the future and use it to decrypt the captured data. PQ E2EE offers the same security property as standard end-to-end encryption (E2EE), namely that the call is encrypted using cryptographic keys known only to the devices of the caller and receiver.
Note: This feature will not be immediately available, as it is dependent on the client release currently scheduled for June 17, 2024.

Users in a third-party system can transfer from a third-party app. These events support blind and warm transfers when the transfer is initiated from OPEN API, Zoom Assistant, and the Zoom app.

They can choose at least three attributes and specify the order in which they will be displayed on the screen. This feature allows for a more personalized experience for users, making it easier for them to identify their extension or share it with others. - Introducing SRTP (secure media) for generic devices
Account owners and admins using non-certified generic SIP/other devices must configure Secure Media usage (SRTP). When the admin clicks the Provision or Provision Info action for a device, the SRTP terms must be acknowledged and accepted before viewing the manual provisioning guide. They will be prompted to configure the device for secure media usage and acknowledge their responsibility.
- Integration features
- Zoom Phone and Bullhorn CRM integration
The integration of Zoom Phone with Bullhorn CRM facilitates seamless calling and call-logging processes. Users can initiate calls directly from Bullhorn by clicking on contacts, with call information such as date, duration, and notes automatically recorded in the contact record. Additionally, users can view previous call history within Bullhorn, eliminating the need to switch between apps for making calls and logging details. This integrated functionality enhances efficiency for users and provides valuable contextual information for calls within their Bullhorn CRM workflow.
- Phone features
- Introducing voicemail transcription general availability
The voicemail transcription feature is generally available for additional languages, including French (Canadian), Spanish, Portuguese, and German. The default setting is English.
Note: This feature will not be immediately available, as it is dependent on the client release currently scheduled for June 17, 2024. - Enhancements to Call summary with AI Companion
Account owners and admins can enable or disable automatic summarization of phone calls. They can also customize the audio notifications and disclaimer prompts for call summarization. Users can view a condensed or complete version of the summary based on their preference. This feature provides greater flexibility and control over the call summarization experience.
Note: This feature will not be immediately available, as it is dependent on the client release currently scheduled for June 17, 2024.
- User features
- Expanded language support for voicemail and videomail transcription
Users can select additional languages for voicemail and videomail transcription, including Chinese (Simplified), Chinese (Traditional), French (France), Italian, Japanese, Korean, Russian, and Spanish (EU). Users can set their default transcription language for voicemail, videomail, and call recording transcriptions in the Zoom Workplace app. This feature must be enabled by Zoom.
Note: This feature will not be immediately available, as it is dependent on the client release currently scheduled for June 17, 2024. - Outbound SMS spam prevention
There are several enhancements to spam prevention rules for outbound SMS messages. When duplicated SMS messages are sent on the Zoom desktop or mobile app, users will receive a risk notice that they must acknowledge. Phone numbers reported for spam are classified into risk categories, and appropriate actions are taken, such as sending notifications, reducing SMS limits, or suspending SMS capability. This feature ensures compliance with messaging best practices.
Note: This feature will not be immediately available, as it is dependent on the client release currently scheduled for June 17, 2024. - Support for multiple languages for voice call summary
Users can select from a wider range of languages for the voice call summary feature, including Chinese (Traditional), Chinese (Simplified), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Portuguese, and Spanish. The feature also includes language identification, automatically detecting language transitions during calls to ensure accurate transcription. This feature must be enabled by Zoom.
Note: This feature will not be immediately available, as it is dependent on the client release currently scheduled for June 17, 2024.
Resolved issues
- Resolved an issue where some users were unable to send SMS messages after migrating from the US cluster to the Canadian cluster, due to the migration tool re-registration.
- Resolved an issue where users received a call queue email alert for an incorrect number of calls waiting in the queue.
- Resolved an issue where account owners and admins could incorrectly use CSV import to assign a Zoom One license to a common area, when common areas cannot be assigned these licenses.
- Resolved an issue where CSV import for batch-updating keys and positions converted imported emails, that contained uppercase letters, to lowercase.
New and enhanced features
- Admin features
- Sign-in redirection for Zoom Workforce Management
Workforce Management admins and supervisors are automatically redirected to the sign-in page if they attempt to access a WFM-specific URL without being logged in. Upon successful sign-in, they are taken directly to the intended page within WFM. Additionally, when their session expires, they are redirected to the sign-in page and then back to their previous location in WFM after signing in again. This saves the effort of manually navigating to the sign-in page. - Agent portal for Zoom Workforce Management
Workforce Management admins and supervisors can view a listing of all agents working in Zoom Workforce Management, along with their details such as supervisor group, shift template assigned, vacation data, and adherence score. They can click into each agent to see their contact information from their Zoom profile, notification email and SMS contact details, and personal calendar with their work schedule. They can also filter agents by supervisor group or shift template name, and search for agents by name. This provides a central location to manage and view agent details within Zoom Workforce Management.
