Setting up video calls on Grandstream GDS3710 video intercoms
You can set up your Grandstream GDS3710 with the video call feature. Remote DTMF is also supported for Grandstream GDS3710 to trigger events such as unlocking door mechanisms. Beware that only video intercom scenarios are supported, specifically limited to communication between Grandstream GDS3710 devices and desk phones. No other video scenarios are supported. You can submit a request to Zoom Support to enable this feature for your account.
Note: Call recording functionalities and other features such as call transfer are not available during a video intercom call. Video recording of interactions while using the video intercom does not occur.

A video call will be placed from the Grandstream intercom device to the video-capable IP phone. - Answer the call from the video IP desk phone that has the destination number above.
A one-way video call should be established between the 2 endpoints.
Grandstream GDS3710 supports using a remote DTMF PIN to open the door.
- Sign in to the Grandstream video intercom device web page interface.
- In the navigation menu, click Door System Settings then Basic Settings.
- Select the Enable DTMF Open Door checkbox to enable using the DTMF PIN to open the door.
- In the Remote PIN to Open Door field, enter the PIN code.
- Press the call button from the Grandstream GDS intercom.
The call button will trigger a video call from the Grandstream GDS intercom to the video-capable IP phone.
When the video IP phone answers the call, it will verify the caller visually. The video IP phone will “open the door” to let the caller in by entering the PIN digits code (aka Remote PIN to open door) on the video IP phone keypad. The Grandstream GDS intercom will receive the PIN code from the video IP phone, and then trigger a “door open” operation to open the door to let the caller into the building door.
How to troubleshoot video calls on Grandstream video intercom
There is a known issue and workaround for when Poly CCX600/CCX700 video IP phones fail to remotely open the door (via DTMF PIN) on the Grandstream GDS intercom.
- Create a Zoom Phone provision template with the contents below:
tone.dtmf.rfc2833Payload="101"
tone.dtmf.rfc2833Payload_OPUS="101"
- Save the template.
- Bind the template to the Poly CCX600/CCX700 video IP phone device.
This workaround will allow the Poly CCX video phone to remotely control the Grandstream GDS to open the door for the caller.
