Using the SignalFx chat app
The SignalFx app brings real-time alerts and monitoring data directly into Zoom Team Chat, helping teams stay informed and respond faster. By sending notifications to specific channels or direct messages, it enables quick collaboration, clearer communication, and centralized visibility, all without switching tools.
Requirements for using the SignalFx chat app
- A Zoom account
- Zoom desktop app
- Windows: version 5.13.0 or higher
- macOS: version 5.13.0 or higher
- An SignalFx account
How to install the SignalFx app from the App Marketplace
- Sign in to the Zoom App Marketplace.
- Search for SignalFx.
- Click Add.
- Review the requested permissions and click Authorize.
How to connect your channel to SignalFx to receive alerts
Step 1: Get a webhook
- Sign in to the desktop app.
- Click the Team Chat tab
. - Use slash command /connect <name>.
- After execution, you can get a URL and a shared secret.
Step 2: Add a webhook integration as a detector alert recipient in SignalFx
- Log in to Splunk Observability Cloud.
For more information, refer to Splunk’s documentation. - Create or edit a detector that you want to configure to send alert notifications using your webhook integration.
For more information about working with detectors, refer to Create detectors to trigger alerts and Subscribe to alerts using the Detector menu. - In the Alert recipients step, select Add Recipient.
- Select Webhook and Click Customize, go to Webhook Notification Page
- Fill in the URL and Shared secret obtained in the previous step under the Target endpoint option
- Activate and save the detector.
How to manage your webhook
- Sign in to the desktop app.
- Click the Team Chat tab
. - Use slash command to Manage Webhook
- connect <name>
- Create a url and a shared secret to send message directly to this channel
- regenerate <name>
- Generate a new secret for the specified connection
- disconnect <name>
- Remove the specified connection
- disconnect all
- Remove all connections created by yourself
- configure
- List connections for current channel
- configure all
- List configurations for all channel
- admin
- Manage all connections under your account (account admin privilege required)
How to remove the SignalFx app
- Sign in to the Zoom App Marketplace with your Zoom account.
- In the top right of the page, click Manage.
- In the navigation menu, click Added Apps.
- Next to the SignalFx app, click Remove.
- Confirm the dialogue and click Remove.
Data Security
- This app has access to the following information on Zoom:
- View all groups subscribed to by a Zoom user under the Zoom account.
- View information of a Zoom user under the Zoom account.
- This app has access to the following information on SignalFx:
- Configure SignalFx notifications within Zoom Team Chat.
- Receive SignalFx status notifications within Zoom Team Chat.
- This app has the following permissions on Zoom:
- This app can send a chat message to an IM channel or Zoom user under the Zoom account.

- Communications between this app and Zoom/SignalFx are encrypted:
- Protocol: TLS 1.2
