Upgrading to an Ubuntu-based image for Zoom Node

If you are utilizing a Zoom Node Almalinux-based management server, it is recommended that you upgrade to the Ubuntu-based image for access to the latest features and security enhancements for Zoom Node.

How to upgrade an Almalinux-based Zoom Node server

Removing the Almalinux-based Node management server

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
  2. Sign in to the Local Admin GUI for your desired Node server.
  3. (Optional) If using the same network configuration for the Ubuntu-based server:
    1. In the navigation menu, click Network.
    2. Under the Interface tab, capture the IP, Gateway, and DNS information for the network interfaces.
  4. In the navigation menu, click Node Agent
  5. Click Remove Zoom Node.
    The Zoom Node Agent will be uninstalled.
  6. Once the agent has been uninstalled, navigate back to the Zoom Web Portal. 
  7. In the navigation menu, click Node Management, then click Modules.
  8. Click the drop-down button , and select the desired module type.
  9. Click the Nodes tab.
  10. Next to the desired Node, click Delete.
  11. When prompted to confirm, click Delete.
    Once the server is deleted from the Zoom Web Portal, the VM can be decommissioned using your VM management software.

Deploying the Ubuntu-based Node management server

The Ubuntu-based Node image can be deployed using this guide. However, if upgrading a Zoom Node server with the Zoom Phone Local Survivability module, after deploying the new Ubuntu-based Node Management server, it must be assigned to a site and configured for use with your Zoom Phone service
