Release notes for August 30, 2024
New and enhanced features
- In-meeting features
- Search docs using URL links for in-meeting shared docs
Users can now search for and share documents using their URL links directly within a Zoom meeting. Previously, document searches were limited to titles within Zoom Docs.
- User features
- Calendar view for visualizing and scheduling dates
Users can display data in a calendar-style view to efficiently visualize and schedule dates. They can see feature release dates, task timelines, and other date-related information. The calendar automatically adjusts for multiple items on the same day, and users can navigate between months, search, and edit dates directly. This feature enhances scheduling efficiency and provides a clear overview of upcoming events and deadlines. - Gallery view for visual data presentation
Users can present data visually in a grid layout using the new gallery view feature in Zoom Docs. The gallery view is designed for scenarios where there are many records in a table, and users want to present the data through visual information. For example, HR professionals can build an employee directory, marketing professionals can create a library of competitors' marketing activities, and users can create a trip wishlist or build a landing wiki. With the gallery view, users can easily generate a creative layout to present and manage media content. - Enhancements to doc return experience
Users can quickly access recently visited Zoom Docs and pages by hovering over the return button. This feature loads a list of recent documents and pages, allowing users to easily navigate back to their previous work. The improved return experience streamlines the process of switching between different documents and pages, enhancing productivity and efficiency. This feature is enabled by default. - Import Notion documents into Zoom Docs
Users can import Notion documents into Zoom Docs by exporting the Notion page as an HTML file and uploading the downloaded zip file. The import process is handled asynchronously, and users can track the progress through notifications. Upon successful import, users can choose to create a new document or add the imported content as subpages to an existing document. If the import fails, an error message is displayed with the reason for the failure. This feature enhances the document collaboration capabilities by allowing users to seamlessly integrate content from Notion into Zoom Docs.
