Creating and sending emails to chats and channels in Zoom Team Chat

You can enhance your team’s communication by sending or forwarding emails directly to specific channels and chats in Zoom Team Chat. By assigning unique email addresses to each channel or chat, you can quickly and easily send emails to the intended destination. Note: All channel/chat members can create email addresses, but only channel owners or admins will have the ability to delete them.

Windows | macOS

  1. Sign in to the Zoom desktop app.
  2. Click the Team Chat tab .
  3. From the left sidebar, select a chat or channel where you want to send the email.
  4. At the top right of the chat or channel, click the ellipsis , then click Create email address.
  5. In the pop-up window, click the Create email address button to generate an email address for the chat or channel.
  6. A notification will appear in the chat or channel confirming that the email address has been created.
  7. Press the Copy button  to copy the email address to your clipboard.
  8. Click the Mail tab .
  9. Click the new email icon  and paste the copied email address into the To field.
  10. Enter a subject to the email.
  11. Enter your message in the text compose box.
  12. Click Send.
  13. You should see the email appear in the selected chat or channel in Zoom Team Chat.

Android | iOS

  1. Sign in to the Zoom mobile app.
  2. Tap the Team Chat tab .
  3. Select a chat or channel where you want to send the email.
  4. Tap the name of the chat or channel.
  5. Tap Create email address.
  6. In the pop-up window, tap the Create email address button to generate an email address for the chat or channel.
  7. Tap the Copy button  to copy the email address to your clipboard.
  8. A notification will appear in the chat or channel confirming that the email address has been created.
  9. Tap the Mail tab .
  10. Tap the new email icon and paste the copied email address into the To field.
  11. Enter a subject to the email.
  12. Enter your message in the text compose box.
  13. Tap Send.
  14. You should see the email appear in the selected chat or channel in Zoom Team Chat.

How to delete email address to chats and channels in Zoom Team Chat

Note: Only users with permission to delete will see the delete button. For all other users, the delete button will be hidden or disabled.

Windows | macOS

  1. Sign in to the Zoom desktop app.
  2. Click the Team Chat tab .
  3. From the left sidebar, select a chat or channel where you’ve created an email address.
  4. At the top right of the chat or channel, click the ellipsis , then click View chat/channel email address.
  5. In the pop-up window, click the Delete icon.
  6. Click Delete to confirm.
  7. A notification will appear in the chat or channel confirming that the email address has been deleted.

Android | iOS

  1. Sign in to the Zoom mobile app.
  2. Tap the Team Chat tab .
  3. Select a chat or channel where you’ve created an email address
  4. Tap the name of the chat or channel.
  5. Tap View chat/channel email address.
  6. In the pop-up window, tap the Delete email address.
  7. Tap Delete to confirm.
  8. A notification will appear in the chat or channel confirming that the email address has been deleted.
