Configuring Zoom Rooms auto-detection
The Zoom Rooms auto-detection feature helps ensure Zoom Workplace user applications are aware a Zoom Room is nearby. This allows the Zoom Workplace application to be context aware, and make it easy to join Zoom meetings from a nearby Zoom Room.
These features facilitate the process of Pairing a Zoom Room with the desktop client (or a mobile client), but do not replace them.
Prerequisites for Zoom Rooms auto-detection
- Zoom Rooms:
- Windows version 6.2.5 or higher
- Mac version 6.2.5 or higher
- Appliances version 6.2.5 or higher
- Administrator or Role with edit access to Zoom Rooms on the web portal
How to enable Zoom Rooms auto-detection
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
- Click Room Management, then Zoom Rooms.
- Click Account Settings.
Note: This setting can also be enabled using the location hierarchy. - Click the Meeting tab.
- Under the Zoom Rooms heading, verify that the toggle for Allow users in your account to pair and control Zoom Rooms is enabled.
- If the toggle is disabled , click it and then click Enable.
- In the sub-settings of Allow users in your account to pair and control Zoom Rooms, enable Zoom Rooms auto-detection, then enable Bluetooth and/or Local network (Bonjour) to facilitate these detection methods.
- (Optional) To prevent admins with Zoom Rooms location hierarchy scoped permissions in your account from changing the settings for Allow users in your account to pair and control Zoom Rooms, click the lock icon next to this setting, and then click Lock to confirm the setting.
