The Opt in to be notified about installing updates portion of the Zoom VDI Plugin Management application for Windows and MacOS can be used to disable VDI Plugin updates for deployments where an administrator has enabled automatic updates.
Enabling or disabling the Opt in to be notified about installing updates toggle in Settings will only change VDI Plugin update behavior if your administrator has enabled VDI Plugin Management on your virtual desktop. If the VDI Plugin Management policy is not enabled for your virtual desktop, then toggling the Opt in to be notified about installing updates in Settings in the VDI Plugin Management application does not enable updates for you. Only your desktop administrator can enable automatic updates. If VDI Plugin updates are not enabled on the virtual desktop, VDI Plugins can only be updated to a newer release by downloading and installing an update manually.
If VDI Plugin Management has been enabled in the virtual desktop, the Opt in to be notified about installing updates setting determines if updates are supported for the computer where VDI Plugin Management application is installed. The default setting is to enable the Opt in setting. Opting in ensures the VDI Plugin is updated when your administrator updates the Zoom VDI Meeting Workplace client to a new release. The update behavior and version of the VDI Plugin that will be installed is controlled by your administrator.
For most deployments, keeping the Opt in setting enabled will ensure your VDI Plugin is updated as needed. Turning the toggle off will stop updates of the VDI Plugin managed by VDI Plugin Management. Switching the option back on for a desktop where VDI Plugin Management is enabled will determine if an updated VDI Plugin should be installed when you next connect to the virtual desktop and run the Zoom VDI Workspace client.
