How to use VDI Plugin Management Diagnostics

The VDI Plugin Diagnostic section in the VDI Plugin Management application provides a self-diagnosis option with a Diagnose button. Clicking Diagnose begins a check to determine what is installed and if installation issues are detected. The results are displayed as a summary, including a notification if no issues are found. If an installation problem is detected, the associated platform will be identified. An option to save a log can be used to collect more detailed information.

How to collect VDI Plugin Management Logs

If diagnostics find a problem requiring more investigation, the Save log option collects all the information. You will be prompted to save the file and provided the option to change the default name and pick the location. The log file can be provided when reporting an issue to assist with the investigation.

How to use the Repair option

The Windows release of VDI Plugin Management provides a Repair option in addition to Diagnose. When a VDI Plugin has been installed, the Repair option will run the MSI package with the option to repair the installation.

Note: The repair option will not work if the MSI has been deleted.

While repair can correct many installation problems, it is still possible a problem may require additional troubleshooting. Use the Save log option to collect logs if your problem persists and contact your support team for assistance.
