Zoom Team Chat's newly redesigned sidebar gives you complete control over your workspace. It’s now easier to prioritize and organize your chats, channels, and apps, allowing you to quickly access the conversations and tools that matter most, with less clutter. To access the redesigned sidebar, upgrade to the latest version of the Zoom desktop app (version 6.3.6).
The new sidebar transforms how you organize your workspace with a flexible two-tiered navigation system. With advanced sorting and filtering options, you can quickly access key features like Meeting Chats, Shared Spaces, 1:1 Chats, Channels, and Apps. This intuitive layout reduces navigation fatigue, helping you stay more focused and efficient throughout the day.
The sidebar is fully customizable, allowing you to organize your favorite Team Chat features by choosing which tabs appear and adjusting their order. By default, you will see the following tabs pinned to your left sidebar:
For additional tools, such as Mentions, Bookmarks, Drafts, and Reminders, navigate to the
More section. Additionally, three new tabs, Folders, Starred, and Sent, are available here by default. You can drag tabs in and out of the More section to further customize your sidebar. This feature ensures the sidebar is highly flexible, meeting a variety of chat organization needs.
With dedicated tabs for Starred chats and Folders, you can bring your most important conversations to the forefront. Just drag these items out of the More section and place them higher in the sidebar for quick access.
