Meeting Hybrid and Recording Hybrid modules data center migration
Zoom is migrating Zoom Node hybrid services to a new set of data centers. Due to this, a configuration change needs to be applied to current Meetings Hybrid and Recording Hybrid deployments for customers using Zoom Node Hybrid services.
Requirements for migrating Hybrid Meeting and Recording Zones
Required timeline for migrations
Migrations will need to be completed by May 2, 2025. If migrations have not been completed by this date, Zoom Support will prepare to perform the migration on your behalf. This ensures continued service once the legacy data centers have been decommissioned.
If zones have not migrated by May 10, 2025, Zoom will perform the migration at 3:00 AM Pacific Standard Time. The migration will restart hybrid meeting and recording services and may disrupt active meetings/recordings.
How to migrate to the new data centers
As part of this new data center rollout, deployed hybrid meeting components (Zone Controller Proxies and Hybrid MMRs) and Recording Hybrid components (Meeting Recorder, Hybrid Transfer Service) will communicate with a new set of cloud services and must be migrated to use these new services. Zoom is working to make this migration as simple and seamless as possible.
To minimize this disruption, it is recommended that the meeting and recording zones be migrated during a maintenance window.
Migration process
Once the migration has been initiated, the following will occur:
- Zoom will automatically test connectivity to the new data centers from Nodes within each Zone to ensure successful migration.
Note: No changes will be required if your outbound firewall ruleset is already configured as specified here (Zoom’s new data centers fall within the published *.zoom.us domain and IP range). - Reconfigure the Meetings Hybrid services (ZCP and HMMR) and Recordings Hybrid services (Meeting Recorder and Hybrid Transfer) to utilize the new data centers.
- Restart all Meetings Hybrid services (ZCP and HMMR) and Recordings Hybrid services (Meeting Recorder and Hybrid Transfer) for the zone that is being migrated.
Note: This step will cause a momentary disruption of any active meetings/recordings as the services are restarted.
Once migration is complete, Zoom recommends running a test meeting and recording to ensure the services operate as expected.
Migrating Hybrid Meeting Zones
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
- In the navigation menu, click Node Management, then click Modules.
- Click the drop-down button
, and click Meetings Hybrid. - On the Nodes tab, click Hybrid Zones.
- To the right of the desired zone, click Migrate.
- On the Prepare window, under Before starting the migration, ensure:, click the checkboxes to verify the following have been completed:
- The domain can be resolved via DNS
- The domain is on your required firewall whitelist
- Click Next.
On the Test connections window, the migration tool will verify the connections to the new services. - Once the tests are complete and successful, click Next.
Note: If there are any meetings running, the tests will fail, and the process will need to be restarted once the meetings are over.
On the Config services window, the services in the associated zone will be configured for the new data center. - Once complete, click Next.
On the Restart services window, the services in the associated zone will be restarted. - Once complete, click Next.
- Once notified the migration is successful, click Close.
- Repeat steps 5-11 for each zone.
Migrating Hybrid Recording Zones

- In the navigation menu, click Node Management, then click Modules.
- Click the drop-down button
, and click Meetings Hybrid. - On the Nodes tab, click Recording Zones.
- To the right of the desired zone, click Migrate.

How to rollback unsuccessful migrations
If the migration cannot be completed successfully, a Rollback button will appear next to the Zone, which can be used to roll back the changes.
To roll back a migration:
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
- In the navigation menu, click Node Management, then click Modules.
- Click the drop-down button
, and click Meetings Hybrid. - On the Nodes tab, click Hybrid Zones or Recording Zones.
- To the right of the desired zone, click Rollback.
- When prompted, click Start Rollback.
On the Restore previous service configuration window, the services will be restored to their state before the migration. - Once complete, click Next.
