10DLC support for sole properietors

Zoom supports 10DLC registration for sole proprietor-type entities. Customers can register SMS campaigns for sole proprietorship businesses without requiring an Employer Identification Number (EIN). The registration process involves a two-factor authentication process where customers provide their wireless mobile number and address information.

A one-time password (OTP) verification is sent to the provided mobile number, which must be validated within 24 hours. The campaign registration supports only the Zoom Phone campaign type and requires sample messages and opt-in/opt-out details. Website and privacy policy information are optional for sole proprietor campaigns. The feature includes automated monthly reporting capabilities that track daily traffic per campaign with reports generated in CSV format on the first of each month. This enhancement expands Zoom Phone's SMS capabilities to support small business entrepreneurs and independent professionals.

This unlocks the powerful messaging features of Zoom Phone for single-person businesses that require a text messaging-enabled business number.

10DLC support for sole proprietors

The 10DLC registration process for sole proprietors is very similar to the regular 10DLC campaigns when it comes to registration experience, with a few notable differences.

  1. Brand creation:
    1. Sole proprietor brands need to undergo a mandatory two-factor authentication (2FA) via SMS to a wireless mobile phone number. Customers can use their personal mobile phone number and receive the 2FA code from the campaign registry for verification.
    2. You must verify the 2FA code. The 2FA code has a 24-hour expiry. If you do not verify in 24 hours, you must request a new 2FA code.
  2. Campaign creation:

Sole proprietor campaigns are only meant for companies with one employee. Customers are advised to not use “we”, “our”, and “us” pronouns in their campaign submission as it conveys the impression that there are multiple employees in the organization. If you have more than one employee, you are advised not to use a sole proprietor brand and campaign, as your campaign will be rejected.
