Migration of Zoom-provided numbers to Common Platform for outbound caller ID
Zoom offers the ability to assign phone numbers to a primary product for both inbound and outbound calling, while using the same number as the outbound caller ID for a secondary product. The primary product can be either Zoom Phone or Zoom Contact Center, depending on your needs. As part of the migration to the Common Platform, changes will be implemented in how phone numbers are managed for the primary and secondary products.
Note: In certain cases, the migration to Number Management may fail if the same phone number is assigned to multiple products. To avoid this, follow the steps below and contact Zoom Support to assist with completing the migration.
Migration of Zoom-provided phone numbers used as outbound caller ID to Common Platform
- Determine the Primary Product: Identify the primary product where the phone number will be assigned. This will depend on which product will receive inbound calls.
- Determine the Secondary Product: Identify the secondary product where the same phone number will be used as the outbound caller ID for outgoing calls.
- Delete the Phone Number from the Secondary Product: Navigate to the secondary product where the phone number is currently configured and delete it.
Note: It’s recommended to perform this action during a maintenance window, as deleting the phone number from the secondary product will remove it as an option for outbound caller ID. In some cases, migration to Number Management may fail if the same phone number is assigned to multiple products. Follow the steps outlined above and contact Zoom Support to assist with completing the migration before re-adding the phone numbers.
- Re-Configure the Phone Number to the Secondary Product as Outbound CLI: Once the migration is complete, re-configure the phone number to the secondary product as follows:
