Configuring the support button for Zoom Rooms
Account owners and admins can configure a support button to display on both Zoom Rooms for Touch displays and Zoom Rooms Controllers. The button allows users to initiate phone calls to a help desk through Zoom Contact Center, Zoom Phone or SIP PBX calling integration. When users tap the support button, they can select from available calling options to quickly connect with IT support.
Requirements for configuring the support button for Zoom Rooms
- Role with edit access to Zoom Rooms
- Zoom Rooms version 6.4.0 or higher
- Zoom Rooms controller version 6.4.0 or higher
Notes:
- When the support button is configured with the Zoom Contact Center integration, a Zoom Rooms for Touch system is required.
- When the support button is configured with Zoom Phone or SIP PBX, a Zoom Rooms controller is required. The Zoom Room must also be configured with Zoom Phone or SIP PBX.
How to enable and configure the support button for Zoom Rooms
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
- Click Room Management the click Zoom Rooms.
- You can use location hierarchy to enable this setting for a specific room or location. Click Account Settings to enable it for the entire account.
- Click the Support tab.
- Click the toggle
next to Enable "Support" button on the Zoom Room. - (Optional) To make this setting mandatory for all rooms, click the lock icon
. - Click Add action
and select the Action type from the drop down.
Fill in the required fields. - (Optional) Click the Add Image
icon to select a custom image (profile picture, etc.) for the action button. - Click Save to finish.
- (Optional) Repeat steps 7-9 to add more action buttons.
How users access the support button
Zoom Rooms controller
Once enabled, users will see the Support
button on the left side of the controller interface. After a user taps the Support button, they are presented with all of the configured action buttons (see above), which they can then tap to call for help.
Note: Users will only be shown support options that are associated with Zoom Phone or SIP PBX.
Zoom Rooms for Touch display
Once enabled, users will see the Support button icon
on the bottom right of the touch display. After a user taps the icon, they are presented with all of the configured action buttons (see above), which they can then tap to call for help.
