Configuring Custom AI Companion to use third-party indexing services

Enabling third-party indexes allows customers to access their enterprise resources, using their own pre-populated indexes, through AI Companion.

Note: Currently, customers can create knowledge collections from Amazon Q Business and Glean indexing services. Other third-party indexing services will be supported in future releases.

How to configure Custom AI Companion to use Amazon Q as third-party indexing services

  1. Open and sign in to Zoom App Marketplace.
  2. Search for apps by entering text into the search bar, selecting a category, or filtering the apps that are currently displayed.
  3. Click the Amazon Q app to view more details, such as the app overview, screenshots, requirements, permissions, developer resources, and more.
  4. At the top of the app listing, click Add Connector.
  5. You will be prompted to authorize the app to have access to the necessary account information. You will be prompted to authorize the user groups you want to have access to the app too. These operations are typically expected to be carried out by the account Administrator.
  6. Proceed with configuring Custom AI Companion to use third-party indexing services:
    1. In the Application ID field, type the application ID of your AWS Q account.
    2. In the Retrieve ID field, type the retrieve ID for your Q container
    3. In the Location field, type in the location of your AWS instance
  7. Click Connect.

How to configure Custom AI Companion to use Glean as third-party indexing services

  1. Open and sign in to Zoom App Marketplace.
  2. Search for apps by entering text into the search bar, selecting a category, or filtering the apps that are currently displayed.
  3. Click the Glean app to view more details, such as the app overview, screenshots, requirements, permissions, developer resources, and more.
  4. At the top of the app listing, click Add.
  5. You will be prompted to authorize the app to have access to the necessary account information.
    Once authorized, the app will be ready for you to use. Usage is through the AI Companion panel, in which you will find all AI Companion integrated apps by clicking the   symbol.

How to use AI Companion with Amazon Q or Glean

  1. Sign in to the Zoom Workplace desktop app.
  2. Click the Home tab or click the AI Companion icon from your active tab.
  3. In the Write a message or type / for more field, click the add button then Explore Apps.
  4. Search for Amazon Q or Glean.
  5. Click Connect.
  6. Sign in to your third-party app account then click Allow to proceed.
  7. To start using your third-party indexing service, type /Amazon Q or /Glean then enter your preferred prompt or query.

How to disconnect third-party indexing connectors

  1. Sign in to the Zoom App Marketplace portal.
  2. In the navigation menu, click Apps on account.
  3. Search and locate the app you want to disconnect.
  4. Click View Details.
  5. Click the ellipsis then Disconnect.
    Note:
    Repeat step 5 for each connected user to fully disconnect this third-party service from your Zoom Account.
