Creating and managing custom dictionaries in AI Studio

Account admins can improve Zoom AI transcription accuracy by creating custom dictionaries tailored to their organization’s terminology in AI Studio. Admins can import terms and acronyms from a file or manually add them, and manage updates over time, including making bulk changes and exporting terms.

How to create a custom dictionary

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal as an admin with the privilege to edit account settings.
  2. In the top-right corner, click your profile picture or initials, then click Admin Center.
  3. In the side menu, click Product configuration.
  4. Click AI Studio, then Zoom AI.
  5. Click the Custom dictionary tab.
  6. Click Create custom dictionary.
  7. Select an Icon to represent the custom dictionary.
  8. Enter a Dictionary name.
  9. Enter a Description that summarizes the purpose of the custom dictionary
  10. Select a Language from the drop-down.
    Note: English (US) is currently the only supported language, with additional languages planned for future updates.
  11. Click Create.
  12. Click Import from CSV to import a collection of terms in CSV format to improve transcription accuracy.
  13. Click to upload or drag a file from your local device, then click Upload.
    Note: Upload one file at a time, up to 1 MB. Add up to 1000 terms, with each term limited to 256 characters.
  14. (Optional) Click Add manually to enter terms into the custom dictionary individually.
  15. Click Test.
  16. Under Run an audio test select one of the options below to test your custom dictionary:
  17. (Optional) Click the View original transcript toggle to compare the original transcript with the custom dictionary-enabled transcript.
  18. Click Publish.
    Note: Publishing allows Zoom AI to reference the custom dictionary in responses, which is only available to users with an active ZoomMate license.

How to manage custom dictionaries

Add custom dictionary terms

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal as an admin with the privilege to edit account settings.
  2. In the top-right corner, click your profile picture or initials, then click Admin Center.
  3. In the side menu, click Product configuration.
  4. Click AI Studio, then Zoom AI.
  5. Click the Custom dictionary tab.
  6. Select the custom dictionary.
  7. Click Add manually to enter terms into the custom dictionary individually.
  8. (Optional) Click Import from CSV, then Add to existing terms to add to your existing dictionary.

Delete custom dictionary terms

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal as an admin with the privilege to edit account settings.
  2. In the top-right corner, click your profile picture or initials, then click Admin Center.
  3. In the side menu, click Product configuration.
  4. Click AI Studio, then Zoom AI.
  5. Click the Custom dictionary tab.
  6. Click the custom dictionary.
  7. Next to the term, click .
  8. Click Delete.

Edit custom dictionary terms

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal as an admin with the privilege to edit account settings.
  2. In the top-right corner, click your profile picture or initials, then click Admin Center.
  3. In the side menu, click Product configuration.
  4. Click AI Studio, then Zoom AI.
  5. Click the Custom dictionary tab.
  6. Select the custom dictionary.
  7. Click the term and adjust it as needed.
  8. Click to confirm changes.
  9. (Optional) Click to cancel changes.
  10. (Optional) Click Add manually to enter terms into the custom dictionary individually.
  11. (Optional) Click Import from CSV, then Replace existing terms to replace the existing list.

Export custom dictionary terms

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal as an admin with the privilege to edit account settings.
  2. In the top-right corner, click your profile picture or initials, then click Admin Center.
  3. In the side menu, click Product configuration.
  4. Click AI Studio, then Zoom AI.
  5. Click the Custom dictionary tab.
  6. Select the custom dictionary.
  7. Click Export to CSV to download the existing custom dictionary terms to your local device as a CSV file.
