Enabling or disabling tracked billable hours for Zoom Meetings
Customers can track and manage billable hours for meetings. They can assign client codes, add billing notes during or after a meeting, and download billable hours reports directly from Contacts. Account owners and admins can enable or disable the Track billable hours setting and configure it to manually start and stop tracking billable hours or enable automatic tracking. This setting is available at the account, group, and user levels.
Requirements for enabling or disabling tracked billable hours for for Zoom Meetings
- Account owner or admin
- Licensed user with an eligible paid plan
Limitation of tracking billable hours for Zoom Meetings
Tracking billable hours has the following limitations:
- This feature is currently only available to new online paid customers.
- The Track Billable Hours feature is only displayed for Zoom online paid plans. Basic and Enterprise (direct or indirect) plans are not included.
How to enable or disable tracked billable hours for Zoom Meetings
Account
To enable or disable Track billable hours for all users in the account:
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal as an admin with the privilege to edit account settings.
- In the navigation menu, click Account Management then Account Settings.
- Click the General tab.
- Under Other, click the Track billable hours toggle to enable or disable it.
- If a verification dialog appears, click Enable or Disable to verify the change.
- After enabling this setting, select from one of the following options:
- Enable manual control to start and stop billable hours tracking for calls and meetings.
- Enable automatic tracking of billable hours for calls and meetings.
Note: The user will be able to pause and resume tracking of billable hours.
- Click Save.
- (Optional) To prevent all users in the group from changing this setting, click the lock icon
, and then click Lock to confirm the setting.
Group
To enable or disable Track billable hours for a group of users:
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal as an admin with the privilege to edit groups.
- In the navigation menu, click User Management then Groups.
- Click the applicable group name from the list.
- Click the General tab.
- Under Other, click the Track billable hours toggle to enable or disable it.
- If a verification dialog appears, click Enable or Disable to verify the change.
- After enabling this setting, select from one of the following options:
- Enable manual control to start and stop billable hours tracking for calls and meetings.
- Enable automatic tracking of billable hours for calls and meetings.
Note: The user will be able to pause and resume tracking of billable hours.
- Click Save.

User

- Click the General tab.
- Under Other, click the Track billable hours toggle to enable or disable it.
- If a verification dialog appears, click Enable or Disable to verify the change.
- After enabling this setting, select from one of the following options:
- Enable manual control to start and stop billable hours tracking for calls and meetings.
- Enable automatic tracking of billable hours for calls and meetings.
Note: The user will be able to pause and resume tracking of billable hours.
- Click Save.
Note: If the option is grayed out, it has been locked at either the group or account level. You must contact your Zoom admin.
