Using OneDrive within AI Companion
The Microsoft OneDrive connector allows you to seamlessly access, create, and share Microsoft 365 documents without leaving Zoom. You can quickly create Word, PowerPoint, and Excel documents, manage sharing permissions, and access your files stored in OneDrive or SharePoint.
You can also use OneDrive with Zoom Team Chat.

How to connect OneDrive with AI Companion
- Sign in to the Zoom desktop app.
- Click the Home tab or click the AI Companion icon
from your active tab. - In the Write a message or type / for more field, click the add icon
. - Click the My Apps tab then OneDrive.
Note: Authorizing the OneDrive app allows AI Companion to access your OneDrive folders, pages and content.
How to disconnect the OneDrive app
- Sign in to the Zoom App Marketplace as an account admin or owner.
- In the top-right corner, click Manage.
- In the navigation menu, click Added apps, then OneDrive.
- Click Connections.
- Click the ellipsis icon
, then Disconnect.
Note: OneDrive app configuration data is deleted automatically when you remove the OneDrive app from the Zoom App Marketplace.
How to create Microsoft 365 documents
Create a new document
- Click the + menu in AI Companion panel.
- Hover over OneDrive to see supported commands.
- Use one of these methods to create a document:
- Type a command like "Create a document" or "Make a doc"
- Explicitly mention "Word" in your request
- Provide a title for your document when prompted.
Notes:
- You can include meeting notes, transcripts, or summaries in your document creation request.
- Only DOCX and TXT formats are supported for document creation.
How to manage documents
Update documents
- To rename a document:
- Use the command: "Change the name of [current title] to [new title]"
- To update content:
- Use the command: "Update the content of [document title] to [new content]"
Search and read documents
- To find documents:
- Use the command: "Find me all documents with [keyword] in the title"
- To view document contents:
- Use the command: "What are the contents of [document title]"
- Use the command: "Provide a summary of [document title]"
- To extract specific information:
- Use the command: "What is [specific information] in [document title]"
Note: Content extraction is limited to 300 characters. For longer documents, consider requesting a summary instead.
How your data is used
Zoom's OneDrive marketplace app allows Zoom Communications Inc. access to your OneDrive folders, pages and content. To do so, you'll need to share OneDrive permissions. The permissions you'll share with Zoom Communications Inc. include:
- Access OneDrive: Zoom Communications Inc. will have permission to access your OneDrive folders, pages and content.
By authorizing this connection, the OneDrive app maintains ongoing access to your information.
