Frequently asked questions about porting away from Japan numbers

Can I port out my number even though my Zoom account is inactive?

No. The phone number needs to be associated with an active Zoom account.

Why was my LNP order denied?

Most of the time, the reason for denial is due to information mismatch. Please check with your new provider for the reason for the denial and log in to your Zoom account to get the correct information.

Will Zoom notify me as the port-out order progresses?

No, this is your new provider's responsibility to inform you of the status. However, Zoom will provide you with a courtesy message informing you that the order has been approved and/or removed.

What should I do if I want to cancel my port-out order?

You will need to contact your new service provider to cancel the order. Only the donor provider who initiated the LNP order can issue a cancellation request.

What happens to my Zoom account after the number is ported away?

Zoom will remove the ported-out number after a successful port. Your account will remain as is. Should you desire to change your account status, please contact our retention.

What should I expect with my native to PEX/BYOC migration request?

Please note that this is still technically a port-out order; thus, it will undergo the same process. Zoom will remove the phone number from the account on the day of port completion, as your PEX/BYOC provider will be pushing the new number to the platform.
