Selecting work profiles on shared common areas
Users who utilize shared devices can select a job-specific profile directly on the device, with no need to sign in when they switch profiles. They can use the features configured by job profiles on the shared devices and switch profiles within the same shift. This streamlined setup helps teams stay flexible and productive while using common area profiles tailored to their roles.
Note: Account owners and admins can enable and configure these role-based profiles by department, assigning features like calling plans, push-to-talk, and call queues. These profiles must be set up before you can use them.
Requirements for selecting work profiles on shared common areas
- Common Area or Zoom Phone licenses in the account
- Zoom mobile app for Android: Global minimum version or higher
- Zoom mobile app for iOS: 6.0.0 or higher
- Zoom mobile app for iPadOS: 6.0.0 or higher
Limitations for selecting work profiles on shared common areas
Work profiles on shared common areas has the following limitations:
- Choosing a profile that is currently in use by another device will log out and disrupt the current user. Please try another available profile, if possible.
How to select work profiles on shared common areas
- Sign in to the common area.
- Tap the Phone tab.
- In the top-left corner, tap the profile picture.
- Under the profile name, tap Switch department.
A list of departments will appear. - Select the department to which you want to switch.
- Select the common area profile you want to use.
- Tap Save.
The common area will switch to the selected profile.
