Configuring smart recognition

With smart recognition, account owners and admins can configure the settings for personalized audio isolation, and automatic smart name tags for both Zoom Rooms and Zoom Workplace app. Smart recognition allows admins and security teams to manage and control which users can enroll and enable these features.

How to configure smart recognition

Account

To configure smart recognition for all users in the account:

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal as an admin with the privilege to edit account settings.
  2. In the navigation menu, click Account Management, then Account Settings.
  3. Click the General tab.
  4. Under Smart recognition, select your preferred settings for the following features:
    1. Personalized audio isolation
    2. Zoom Rooms automatic smart name tags
      1. Video
      2. Voice
    3. Zoom Workplace app automatic smart name tags

Group

To configure smart recognition for a group of users:

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal as an admin with the privilege to edit groups.
  2. In the navigation menu, click User Management then Groups.
  3. Click the applicable group name from the list.
  4. Click the General tab.
  5. Under Smart recognition, select your preferred settings for the following features:
    1. Personalized audio isolation
    2. Zoom Rooms automatic smart name tags
      1. Video
      2. Voice
    3. Zoom Workplace app automatic smart name tags

Voice recognition

Creating a voice recording for voice recognition

  1. Sign in to the Zoom desktop app.
  2. Click the Home tab then the Settings button  . Alternatively, click your profile picture then click Settings.
  3. In the navigation menu, click My account.
  4. Under Smart recognition then Voice recognition, click Create voice recording.
  5. In the Create a voice recording dialog box, follow the on-screen prompts to complete the enrollment process.
    1. Click Start recording then read the provided text out loud. Speak clearly and make sure there is no background noise.
      Note: The selected microphone settings under the Audio tab will be used while recording.
    2. Click Stop recording then Complete enrollment.
  6. In the Voice recorded dialog box, click Close.

Updating the voice recording for voice recognition

  1. Sign in to the Zoom desktop app.
  2. Click your profile picture then click Settings.
  3. In the navigation menu, click My account.
  4. Under Smart recognition then Voice recognition, click Update voice recording.
  5. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the process.

Deleting the voice recording for voice recognition

Your reference voice recording cannot be used once deleted and the smart voice recognition feature will be disabled.

  1. Sign in to the Zoom desktop app.
  2. Click your profile picture then click Settings.
  3. In the navigation menu, click My account.
  4. Under Smart recognition then Voice recognition, click Delete voice recording.
  5. If a verification dialog appears, click Delete.
Web portal

Creating a voice recording for voice recognition

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
  2. In the navigation menu, click Profile.
  3. Under Smart recognition then Voice recognition, click Create voice recording.
  4. In the Create a voice recording dialog box, follow the on-screen prompts to complete the enrollment process.
    1. Select the preferred Microphone from the drop down list.
    2. Click Start recording then read the provided text out loud. Speak clearly and make sure there is no background noise.
    3. Click Stop recording then Complete enrollment.
  5. In the Voice recorded dialog box, click Close.
  6. (Optional) Select the Notify me when a smart name tag for voice is attributed to my account checkbox.
    Note: This only applies to changes made in the cloud recording transcript.

Updating the voice recording for voice recognition

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
  2. In the navigation menu, click Profile.
  3. Under Smart recognition then Voice recognition, click Update voice recording.
  4. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the process.

Deleting the voice recording for voice recognition

Your reference voice recording cannot be used once deleted and the smart voice recognition feature will be disabled.

Uploading an image for video recognition

  1. Sign in to the Zoom desktop app.
  2. Click your profile picture then click Settings.
  3. In the navigation menu, click My account.
  4. Under Smart recognition then Video recognition, click Upload Image.
  5. Choose your preferred method of uploading an image for video recognition:
    1. To take a photo, select the preferred Camera from the drop down list then click Take photo.
    2. To upload a photo, click Use your own photo then select a photo you want to upload.
    3. To use your existing profile photo, click Use your own photo then Use profile photo. Click Complete enrollment afterwards.
  6. In the Enrollment completed dialog box, click Close.

  1. Sign in to the Zoom desktop app.
  2. Click your profile picture then click Settings.
  3. In the navigation menu, click My account.
  4. Under Smart recognition then Video recognition, click Delete image.
  5. If a verification dialog appears, click Delete.
Web portal

Uploading an image for video recognition

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
  2. In the navigation menu, click Profile.
  3. Under Smart recognition then Video recognition, click Upload Image.
