Using stethoscope devices with Zoom Rooms

Healthcare providers can use digital stethoscope devices with Zoom Rooms without adjusting additional audio settings. When a supported stethoscope device is connected to a Zoom Room via USB and selected as the microphone input, Zoom Rooms automatically adjusts and/or disables audio processing features like noise suppression and automatic gain control.

How to configure the stethoscope device allowlist

By default, the allowlist aligns with the existing cloud-based stethoscope device database:

Account owners and admins can configure which USB devices are identified as stethoscopes, with settings available at the account, location, and individual room levels.

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
  2. Click Room Management, then click Zoom Rooms
  3. You can use the Zoom Rooms location hierarchy to configure the allowlist. For this example, click Account Settings.
  4. Click Devices on the left menu, then find Support stethoscope allowlist, and click the toggle to enable it, if necessary.
  5. Click Add stethoscope device, fill in the required information, then click Add to allowlist when finished.
