Using facial recognition for visitor check-in

Facial recognition allows visitors to check in at Zoom Rooms kiosks using their photo instead of manually entering a code. This feature uses the same facial recognition technology as smart speaker tags to match visitors with their pre-registered information. Visitors must provide consent to use their photo during registration or at check-in, and admins can control whether this feature is available at their location.

Requirements for facial recognition check-in

• Zoom Visitor Management subscription
• Zoom Rooms kiosk with camera capability
• Visitors must be pre-registered for their visit
• The visitor's photo must be collected during registration
• Visitor consent for facial recognition use

How to take or upload your photo during visitor registration

Take photo

1. After confirming your invitation and visitor details on your visitor registration information window, click Confirm.
2. In the lower left corner, click Take photo from the dropdown menu.
3. Click Next.
4. (Optional) Toggle on Enable automatic photo check-in.
   Note:
   • Read and review the disclaimer before enabling the photo check-in. Click 'OK' to enable the feature.
   • Your face fills most of the frame
   • Your face is not tilted
   • Nothing is obstructing your face
   • There is only one face in the image
5. Click Next to take your photo.

Upload photo

1. After confirming your invitation and visitor details on your visitor registration information window, click Confirm.
2. In the lower left corner, click Upload from the dropdown menu.
3. Click Next.
4. (Optional) Toggle on Enable automatic photo check-in.
   Note:
   • Read and review the disclaimer before enabling the photo check-in. Click 'OK' to enable the feature.
   • Your face fills most of the frame
   • Your face is not tilted
   • Nothing is obstructing your face
   • There is only one face in the image
5. Click Next to upload your photo.

How to check in using facial recognition

1. Approach the Zoom Rooms kiosk at your visit location.
2. On the check-in screen, select the Photo tab, then select Take photo.
   Note: Before taking your photo, note the following:
   • Ensure your face fills the frame.
   • Ensure there is only one face in the image.
   • Please ensure your face is clearly lit. 
   • Ensure your face is not tilted.
   • Ensure nothing is obstructing your face.
3. After taking your photo, select Continue, then select Confirm and check in.
4. You will receive confirmation once you've successfully checked in.
