Managing host permissions with the Zoom VDI Plugin Management tool
The permissions management feature in Zoom VDI Plugin Management helps you view and manage the system permissions required by Zoom VDI Plugin components. This feature ensures your Zoom VDI experience works smoothly by helping you identify and resolve permission-related issues through a centralized interface.
Requirements for managing Zoom VDI Plugin permissions
- macOS 10.15 (Catalina) or later
- Zoom VDI Plugin Management and Zoom VDI Plugin version 6.6.10 or later
- Administrative access to grant system permissions
Understanding system permissions and status indicators
macOS requires applications to request your explicit permission before accessing certain features of your computer. Zoom VDI Plugin needs several permissions to function properly.
Permission types
Zoom VDI Plugin requires the following system permissions:
- Camera: Allows use of the camera during video meetings
- Microphone: Allows the use of the microphone during meetings
- Screen Recording: Allows the ability to share your screen with meeting participants
- Accessibility: Allows the use of advanced meeting controls and UI optimizations
- Full Disk Access: Allows Zoom VDI Plugin Management to view permission statuses
Status indicators
The interface uses color-coded badges to show the status of each permission:
- Valid (blue) - Permission is granted and working correctly
- Invalid (red) - Permission was granted, but is not working properly
- Denied (red) - Permission was explicitly denied
- Ungranted (gray) - Permission has not been requested or granted yet
When to check permissions
In most cases, macOS automatically prompts you to grant necessary permissions during installation and initial use. However, you should check permissions if you experience:
- Video or audio is not working in meetings
- The AVD plugin cannot connect to remote sessions
- Video window position offset or display issues
- Screenshot functionality is not working
