Enabling or disabling Peer-to-Peer media for Zoom Phone
Account owners and admins can allow Zoom clients and supported desk phones to send media directly to each other. This setting requires the Zoom clients and supported desk phones to be restarted for changes to take effect.
Note: This feature will be available to all customers in phases over the next few months.

Requirements for enabling or disabling Peer-to-Peer media for Zoom Phone
- Either a Zoom Workplace license with Phone included, or a standalone Zoom Phone calling plan
- Account owner or admin privileges
Limitations for Peer-to-Peer media for Zoom Phone
Peer-to-Peer media for Zoom Phone has the following limitations:
- This setting is only available with Zoom Workplace app version 6.7.0 or later.
- Users or devices that have certain features like recording or monitoring enabled may not be able to use Peer-to-Peer media.
How to enable or disable Peer-to-Peer media for Zoom Phone
Account
To enable or disable Peer to Peer Media for all users in the account:
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal as an admin with the privilege to edit account settings.
- In the navigation menu, click Account Management then Account Settings.
- Click the Zoom Phone tab.
- Under General, click the Peer to Peer Media toggle to enable or disable it.
- If a verification dialog appears, click Enable or Disable to verify the change.
- (Optional) To prevent all users in your account from changing this setting, click the lock icon
, and then click Lock to confirm the setting.
Group
To enable or disable Peer to Peer Media for a group of users:
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal as an admin with the privilege to edit groups.
- In the navigation menu, click User Management then Groups.
- Click the applicable group name from the list.
- Click the Zoom Phone tab.
- Under General, click the Peer to Peer Media toggle to enable or disable it.
- If a verification dialog appears, click Enable or Disable to verify the change.
Note: If the option is grayed out, it has been locked at the account level and needs to be changed at that level. - (Optional) To prevent all users in the group from changing this setting, click the lock icon
, and then click Lock to confirm the setting.
Site
To enable or disable Peer to Peer Media for all site users:
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal as an admin with the privilege to edit account settings.
- In the navigation menu, click Phone System Management then Company Info.
- Click the applicable site name from the list.
- Click the Policy tab.
- Under General, click the Peer to Peer Media toggle to enable or disable it.
- If a verification dialog appears, click Enable or Disable to verify the change.
- (Optional) To prevent all users in your site from changing this setting, click the lock icon
, and then click Lock to confirm the setting.
Phone user
To enable or disable Peer to Peer Media for a phone user:
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal as an admin with the privilege to edit account settings.
- In the navigation menu, click Phone System Management then Users & Rooms.
- Click the Users tab.
- Click the applicable user name from the list.
- Click the Policy tab.
- Under General, click the Peer to Peer Media toggle to enable or disable it.
- If a verification dialog appears, click Enable or Disable to verify the change.
Note: If the option is grayed out, it has been locked at either the group or account level. You need to contact your Zoom admin.
