Enabling or disabling AI Companion on the web
Account owners and admins can enable or disable AI Companion on the web, allowing users to access Zoom AI Companion directly in a browser. When enabled, AI Companion on the web lets users ask questions, retrieve information from their Zoom content or connected sources, and collaborate on writing or research tasks with AI assistance.

Requirements for enabling or disabling AI Companion on the web
- Pro, Business, or Enterprise account, or AI Companion standalone account
- AI Companion enabled by an account owner or admin
- Account owner, admin privileges, or any custom role that has access to modify account settings
- Supported browser: Chrome, Edge, Safari, or Firefox (latest versions)
How to enable or disable AI Companion on the web
You can control whether AI Companion on the web is available at the account, group, or user level.
Account
To enable or disable AI Companion on the web for all users in the account:
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal as an admin with the privilege to edit account settings.
- In the navigation menu, click Account Management, then Account Settings.
- Click the AI Companion tab.
- Under General, click the AI Companion on the web toggle to enable or disable it.
- If a verification dialog appears, click Enable or Disable to verify the change.
- (Optional) To prevent all users in your account from changing this setting, click the lock icon
, and then click Lock to confirm the setting.
Group
To enable or disable AI Companion on the web for a group of users:
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal as an admin with the privilege to edit groups.
- In the navigation menu, click User Management, then Groups.
- Click the name of the group you want to configure.
- Click the AI Companion tab, then click Manage all settings.
- Under General, click the AI Companion on the web toggle to enable or disable it.
- If a verification dialog appears, click Enable or Disable to verify the change.
Note: If the option is grayed out, it has been locked at the account level and needs to be changed at that level.
User
To enable or disable AI Companion on the web for your own use:
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
- In the navigation menu, click Settings.
- Click the AI Companion tab.
- Under General, click the AI Companion on the web toggle to enable or disable it.
- If a verification dialog appears, click Enable or Disable to verify the change.
Note: If the option is grayed out, it has been locked at either the group or account level. You need to contact your Zoom admin.
