Issues with changing or replacing Zoom Phone numbers

You need to change, replace, or request a specific format for your Zoom Phone number, but you may encounter one of the following difficulties:

Use the steps below to change or replace your Zoom Phone number. The specific process depends on whether you need a standard replacement, a specific number format, or want to port in an existing number.

Replace an existing phone number with a new standard number

If you need to replace your current phone number with one that isn’t on your list and you've already reached the maximum allowed by your plan, you’ll need to delete an existing number before selecting a new one in your desired area code.

Notes:

 

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal as an admin with appropriate privileges.
  2. In the navigation panel, click Number Management.
  3. Click Phone Numbers.
  4. On the Phone Numbers page, find the phone number and click the ellipsis icon .
  5. Click Delete.
  6. In the top-right corner of the page, click Add Number, then select Get Number.
  7. Enter the Product, Country/Region, Type & Capability, State/Province/Territory, and Area Code.
  8. (Optional) Click More options to enter the Number Prefix and Sequential.
  9. Click Search to view available numbers.
    A list of phone numbers will display, assuming numbers are available in the requested area code.
  10. Select your desired number and click Done.
  11. To the right of the new number, click the ellipsis icon and click Assign.
  12. Choose the user and click Save.
    The new number can be used immediately after it is assigned.

Request a specific phone number format or vanity number

Use this process when you need a specific number format (like 314-881-xxxx) or a vanity number that isn't available in the standard selection.

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
  2. In the navigation panel, click Number Management.
  3. Click Phone Numbers.
  4. In the top-right corner of the Phone Numbers page, click Add Number, then select Get Number.
  5. Fill in the required information, including Product, Country/Region, Number type, State/Province/Territory, and Area Code.
  6. Click Search for available numbers.
  7. If your desired number format is not available, click Create ticket to submit a request with your specific format requirements.
