Managing Frontline licensing and shift group roles via SAML

Account owners and admins can use advanced SAML mapping to automatically assign Zoom Workplace for Frontline licenses based on SAML attributes. This enables frontline users who require access to Zoom Workplace for Frontline to receive the appropriate license at sign-in. With this approach, admins can ensure that only designated frontline workers have the tools they need to communicate, collaborate, and stay connected during their shifts.

In addition to assigning licenses via SAML, administrators can also assign default shift group chat channel roles.

• SSO configured

How to assign a Frotline license to a user via SAML

1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal as an admin with the privilege to edit account settings.
2. In the navigation menu, click Advanced, then Single Sign-On.
3. Click the SAML Response Mapping tab.
4. Under SAML Advanced Information Mapping, next to License: Zoom Workplace for Frontline, click Add.
5. Enter the following attributes:
   • SAML Attribute: Enter the attribute name being passed by your IdP.
   • SAML Value: Enter the value being passed by your IdP for this specific user or group of users.
     Note: This value is not case sensitive. For example, ABC and abc will be treated as the same value.
   • Resulting Value: Click the Select license dropdown and select Zoom Workplace for Frontline.
6. Add additional SAML mappings by clicking Add.
7. Click Save Changes.

How to assign a Frontline user default shift group role

1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal as an admin with the privilege to edit account settings.
2. In the navigation menu, click Advanced, then Single Sign-On.
3. Click the SAML Response Mapping tab.
4. Under SAML Advanced Information Mapping, next to SG Job Role, click Add.
5. Enter the following attributes:
   • SAML Attribute: Enter the attribute name being passed by your IdP.
   • SAML Value: Enter the value being passed by your IdP for this specific user or group of users.
     Note: This value is not case sensitive. For example, ABC and abc will be treated as the same value.
   • Resulting Value: Select Admin or Member. 
6. Add additional SAML mappings by clicking Add.
7. Click Save Changes.
