Using the Zoom Contact Center Live AI Interpreter
The Live AI Interpreter is an AI-powered, speech-to-speech translation feature built directly into Zoom Contact Center (ZCC). It enables agents and customers to communicate naturally across language barriers through real-time, bidirectional spoken translation.
The feature supports the following languages:

Requirements for using the Live AI Interpreter
How to use the Live AI Interpreter in voice engagements
- Sign in to the Zoom desktop app.
- In the navigation bar, click the Contact Center tab.
Note: If you do not see the Contact Center tab, click the More tab
, then click Contact Center. - Start a voice engagement.
- In the bottom toolbar, click Start Interpreter to launch the AI translation engine.
- Verify or change your speaking language as needed.
- Agent: The Zoom desktop app language automatically sets both the language you speak and the language you want to hear translated into.
- Consumer: Their language defaults to the engagement language, which determines what they hear during the conversation.
- Select an AI interpreter voice for the translated audio.
Once the translation engine is active, an on-screen badge will appear. The consumer will also receive a notification when the service is enabled by the agent. - The AI automatically translates the spoken words and plays back the translation in the other participant’s language.
- Both participants hear the original voice and the translated version simultaneously.
- When translation is no longer required, click Stop Interpreter to end the AI translation session.
How to use the Live AI Interpreter in video engagements
- Sign in to the Zoom desktop app.
- In the navigation bar, click the Contact Center tab.

- In the bottom toolbar, click Start Interpreter to launch the AI translation engine.
- Verify or change your speaking language as needed.
- Agent: The Zoom desktop app language automatically sets both the language you speak and the language you want to hear translated into.
- Consumer: Their language defaults to the engagement language, which determines what they hear and see translated during the conversation.
- Adjust the balance volume slider to control the volume between original and translated audio.
- Select an AI interpreter voice for the translated audio.
- (Optional) Enable Translated captions and transcript.
Once the translation engine is active, an on-screen badge will appear. The consumer will also receive a notification when the service is enabled by the agent. - The AI automatically translates the spoken words and plays back the translation in the other participant’s language. Both participants hear the original voice and the translated version simultaneously.
- When translation is no longer required, click Stop Interpreter to end the AI translation session.
