Adding charts to Zoom Sheets
Zoom Sheets allows you to visually represent and analyze your data by adding charts to your spreadsheet. Charts transform raw data into visual formats like bar graphs, line charts, and pie charts, making it easier to identify trends, compare values, and communicate insights effectively.
Requirements for adding charts in Zoom Sheets
- Zoom Workplace desktop app for Windows, macOS, or Linux: 7.0.0 or higher
- Zoom Sheets enabled
How to add a chart to a spreadsheet
- Open a spreadsheet.
- In the toolbar, click the Insert chart icon.
Note: If you do not see the Insert chart option, click the More icon
, then click the Insert chart icon. - Under Chart Type, select the desired chart style:
- Column Chart: Displays data as vertical bars.
- Bar Chart: Shows data as horizontal bars.
- Line Chart: Connects data points with lines to visualize trends and changes over continuous intervals or time periods.
- Area Chart: Similar to line charts, but fills the area below the line.
- Pie Chart: Displays data as slices of a circle, showing the proportional relationship of parts to a whole.
- Scatter Plot: Plots individual data points on X and Y axes to reveal correlations or patterns between two variables.
- Other Charts: Includes additional specialized chart types such as bubble charts, stock charts, and sunburst charts, histogram charts, and more.
- Under Data range, enter the cell range for the chart.
Note: Click the Show data in hidden rows and columns checkbox to include data in hidden cells. - (Optional) Configure either the X-axis or Y-axis categories.
- (Optional) Under Series, add and configure data series for the chart.
- (Optional) Click the Custom Style tab to configure additional formatting for the chart:
- Chart Title and Axis Titles: Customize the text, font, size, and alignment of the chart's main title and axis labels.
- Chart Style: Adjust the overall visual appearance, including size, borders, and background color of the chart.
- Horizontal Axis options: Configure the display settings for the X-axis, including labels, grid lines, and scale intervals.
- Vertical axis (value): Set the Y-axis properties such as minimum/maximum values, units, and number formatting.
- Legend: Control the position, visibility, and formatting of the chart legend that identifies data series.
- Series: Modify individual data series properties, including colors, markers, and line styles.
- Reference Line: Add horizontal or vertical lines to highlight specific values or thresholds on the chart.
How to manage a chart in a spreadsheet
- Open a spreadsheet.
- In the top right corner of the chart, click the More icon
. - Click one of the following options:
- Edit Chart: Opens the chart editor to modify chart type, data range, and formatting options.
- Copy as image: Copies the chart as an image to your clipboard for pasting into other applications.
- Save as image: Downloads the chart as an image file to your local device.
- Delete chart: Removes the chart from the spreadsheet permanently.
