Using AI Formula in Zoom Sheets

Zoom Sheets introduces AI Formulas, enabling users to write formulas in natural language. These formulas can be created through two convenient methods: submit requirements directly within the app and insert formulas into cells, or use the AI chat side panel to generate formulas that can be copied into the spreadsheet. This natural language approach simplifies formula creation while maintaining the same workflow as regular spreadsheet formulas.

Requirements for using AI Formula in Zoom Sheets 

• Zoom Workplace Pro, Zoom Workplace Pro Plus, Zoom Workplace Business, Zoom Workplace Business Plus, Zoom Workplace for Education, or Zoom Workplace Enterprise account
• Productivity Suite or ZoomMate add-on
• Zoom Workplace desktop app for Windows or macOS: 7.0.0 or higher
• Zoom Sheets enabled 
• AI Formula enabled

Note: AI features may not be available for select verticals and select regional customers.

How to use AI Formula

1. Open a spreadsheet.
2. Select the desired cells you want to use AI Formula in.
3. In the Zoom Sheets toolbar, click the AI icon  .
4. Click Generate Formula.
5. Using natural language, describe the formula you want to generate, including the data you want to apply the formula to (Ex. "What is the maximum value in Column F?")
   AI will analyze the request and come back with the relevant formula, parameters, description of the request, and the context utilized to generate the formula.
6. (Optional) Refine the prompt using the text box, or click Reject to reject the output.
7. Once satisfied with the function, click Keep.
   AI will apply the formula to the cell.
