Troubleshooting unknown error
If you encounter an error message stating “Unknown Error.”, it means the following:
- The system encountered an unspecified issue during payment processing, preventing the transaction from being completed.
This issue typically occurs when:
- Required fields in the payment or billing form are incomplete or contain invalid information.
- Billing contact or payment details are missing or incorrectly configured.
- A temporary browser or system glitch is interfering with the payment process.
How to troubleshoot payment unknown error
Follow these steps to troubleshoot:
- Review all payment form fields
Carefully check every field in the payment and billing address sections. Ensure all required fields are completed, including cardholder name, card number, expiration date, CVV, street address, city, state, ZIP code, and country. - Update billing information
Go to your billing portal and review your Billing Contact, Sold To Contact, and Payment Method details. If applicable, uncheck any “Same as Bill To Contact” option and manually enter the full billing address for accuracy. - Clear browser data and retry
Clear your browser’s cache and cookies, then attempt the payment again using an Incognito or Private browsing window. - Try a different browser
Switch to another browser, such as Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox, to rule out browser-specific issues. - Re-add your payment method
If the issue persists, remove your existing payment method and add it again from scratch to ensure all details are correctly entered. - Disable interfering browser extensions
Turn off any browser extensions that may interfere with form submissions, such as autofill tools or privacy blockers, then retry the transaction.
