How to set up the Zoom Virtual Agent Receptionist for any Phone (Standalone)
- Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
- Complete your Zoom Virtual Agent Receptionist for any Phone (Standalone) purchase.
- In the onboarding wizard, provide business knowledge using one or more methods:
- Company website: Enter your URL, and Zoom automatically scrapes and syncs the content.
- File upload: Upload documents covering common customer questions.
- Business description: Enter a short summary for the agent to reference.
- Select a voice actor and language for the agent.
- Configure optional skills. Additional skills can be added later from the agent's Skills section.
- Call routing: Define a topic or scenario to detect, assign a destination number, and click Enable.
- Scheduling: Connect an existing Zoom Scheduler booking link so the agent can check availability and book appointments. The agent cannot cancel or reschedule existing appointments.
- Transfer by name: Enter a contact's name and transfer number, then click Enable.
- Customize the agent's display name and greeting script.
- Click Create agent to finish onboarding. After onboarding, review and edit the agent's settings as needed:
- Properties: Edit the voice actor or customize greetings.
- Knowledge: Add or update knowledge sources. Confirm the scrape status shows Completed.
- Skills: Add or edit task-handling instructions.
- Channels: Confirm the phone number channel is set to Active.
- (Optional) To test the agent, open the preview panel and click Start test, or call the assigned phone number directly.
- Once satisfied, at the top right, click Publish.
