Using Canvas by Instructure with ZoomMate

Once an admin configures and installs Canvas by Instructure for Zoom, teachers and students can manage courses, assignments, discussions, grades, and other LMS tasks through conversational commands in ZoomMate, streamlining course administration while maintaining secure authentication. With approximately 49 available tools, the Canvas LMS connector supports both pulling information from and pushing information to Canvas (by Instructure) LMS instances.

How to connect Canvas by Instructure within ZoomMate

  1. Launch ZoomMate.
  2. In the bottom-left corner, click the Settings icon .
  3. In the left navigation, under Customization, click Connectors.
  4. On the Discover tab, under Ready for use, search for Canvas by Instructure.
  5. Click Connect.
  6. Sign in to your Canvas account, then click Allow.
  7. Proceed with the authorization steps.

Once the app is added, you can complete Canvas tasks directly in ZoomMate.

How to use Canvas by Instructure with ZoomMate

  1. Sign in to the Zoom desktop app.
  2. In the top right corner, click the ZoomMate icon.
  3. In the Write a message or type / for more field, click the Add icon.
  4. Click the Canvas by Instructure app.
  5. Canvas will be shown below the prompt field.
  6. Choose from the preset prompts or enter your own prompt and send it.
