Debugging Marketplace tools in Zoom Virtual Agent

The Marketplace tool debug feature allows you to validate a tool's configuration directly inside the Zoom Virtual Agent skill builder before you publish it. Instead of running a full agent conversation to find out whether a tool returns the expected data, you can run the tool in isolation with sample input parameters and inspect the raw response.

How to debug a tool

After the feature toggle is enabled, open the agent and the skill that contains the tool you want to test.

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal as an admin.
  2. In the top-right corner, click your profile picture or initials, then click Admin Center.
  3. In the side menu, click Product configuration .
  4. Click AI Studio then Virtual Agents.
  5. Select a voice or chat agent.

  8. At the bottom of the Edit tool dialog, click Debug.
The Debug dialog opens with two tabs: Debug and Test cases.
  9. On the Debug tab, enter a value for each input parameter (for example, a value for query_name). You can also switch to JSON view to enter the input parameters as a JSON object.
  10. Click Run.
  11. Review the Result section.
The tool's raw response is displayed along with the execution Time cost in milliseconds. For example, a successful response may include a code of 200, a message of success, and the returned data object.

How to save a test case

  1. Debug a tool.
  2. After a run completes, click Save as test case in the Debug tab.
  3. Save the tool and the skill.
Note: A test case is only persisted when the skill is saved.
  4. Provide a name for the test case (for example, case1 or case2). The current input parameter values are saved with that name.

How to reuse and manage test cases

  1. Debug a tool.
  2. In the Debug dialog, select the Test cases tab to view all saved test cases for the tool.
  3. Expand a test case to view its saved input parameters (parameter name and value).
  4. Use the icons on each test case to Edit, Delete, or Copy it.
  5. To re-run a saved test case, return to the Debug tab and select it from the Prefill test case dropdown to populate the input parameters, then click Run.
  6. To add a test case directly, select Add test case on the Test cases tab.
