Using boards in Forecast

Forecast provides sales teams with a high-level overview of boards on both an individual and team basis. This article goes into more detail about navigating the boards page in Forecast, creating boards, and configuring different board settings.

How to access boards in Forecast

Web
  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
  2. In the top-right corner, click the Zoom Products icon .
  3. In the Zoom Products menu, click Revenue Accelerator .
    Revenue Accelerator will open in a new browser tab.
  4. In the side menu, click Forecast then Overview.

Windows | macOS | Linux
  1. Sign in to the Zoom desktop app.
  2. In the navigation bar, click the Revenue tab .
    Note: If you do not see the Revenue tab , click the More tab , then click Revenue .
  3. In the side menu, click Forecast then Overview.

How to navigate board overview

The Forecast overview provides a high-level view of your organization’s pipeline. To navigate the board overview, follow these steps:
  1. Select a board from the first dropdown to use as reference.
  2. Select a team or individual member from the second dropdown to use as reference.
  3. Select a month or quarter (options depend on your board settings) to cover.

How to add a board in Forecast

To create a forecast board, follow these steps:
  1. In the top-right corner, click the more icon then Add board.
  2. Configure the board settings.
  3. In the top-right corner, click Save.

How to configure board settings in Forecast

Configure general board information

To configure general information about board, follow these steps:
  1. Under General settings, click General.
  2. Under Board details, enter the board name.
  3. (Optional) Enter a short description that provides context for the board.
  4. Under CRM deal fields, select the preferred deals fields to be tracked and used for analytics:

Configure board columns

To configure board columns, follow these steps:
  1. Under General settings, click Board Columns.
    You will be directed to the board columns page where you can configure the forecast board columns that appear on the board.
  2. At the top of the left board column panel, click the plus icon to add a column.
  3. Select the type of column and follow the instructions to configure its details:

  4. Add more columns as needed for the forecast board.
  5. To rearrange column order, click the six dots icon to the left of a column and drag it up or down to the preferred order.
  6. To keep a column from appearing on the board, click the more icon to the right of a column and select Hide.
  7. To permanently remove a column, click the more icon to the right of a column and select Delete.

Configure forecast commitment column

To configure a forecast commitment column, follow these steps:
  1. Under Column name, enter the column name.
  2. (Optional) Under Description, enter a short description that provides context for what it shows.
  3. Under Amount type, select from the following goal types to display in the column:

  4. Under Add related calculation, select a calculation to add to the column to support the number you submit:
  5. (Optional) Under Apply filter, click Add condition then configure the fields of the condition for the calculation.
    Note: A calculation can have multiple conditions.
  6. Under Apply offset, select from the following offset period:

  7. (Optional) Under Additional calculation, add more calculations and associated condition filters as needed.
  8. Under Customize display, view how a board cell under the column will appear.
  9. Select from the following options how to display the last commitment change:

  10. Click the Show progress toggle to enable or disable displaying it in the cell. If enabled, select the type of progress to display:

  11. Click the Auto-calculate toggle to enable or disable automatic gradual calculation of the outcome as the quarter progresses.

Configure calculation column

To configure a calculation column, follow these steps:
  1. Under Column name, enter the column name.
  2. (Optional) Under Description, enter a short description that provides context for what it shows.
  3. Under Primary calculation, select the main calculation for the column.
  4. (Optional) Under Apply filter, click Add condition then configure the fields of the condition for the calculation.
    Note: A calculation can have multiple conditions.
  5. Under Apply offset, select from the following offset period:

  6. (Optional) Under Additional calculation, add more calculations and associated condition filters as needed.
  7. Under Customize display, view how a board cell under the column will appear.
  8. Click the Show progress toggle to enable or disable displaying it in the cell. If enabled, select the type of progress to display:

Configure goal column

To configure a goal column, follow these steps:
  1. Under Column name, enter the column name.
  2. (Optional) Under Description, enter a short description that provides context for what it shows.
  3. Under Goal display, select a goal to display in the column.
  4. Under Customize display, view how a board cell under the column will appear.

Configure period

To configure board coverage period, follow these steps:
  1. Under General settings, click Period.
  2. Select the board's forecast period:

Configure cadence

To configure board forecast cadence, follow these steps:
  1. Under General settings, click Cadence.
  2. Select the day of the week and the time of the day (in hour increments) when your team submits forecasts.
  3. Select or deselect the Send a reminder when forecasts are due checkbox based on your notification preference.
  4. If reminder is enabled, select the preferred channel for receiving the reminder:

Configure company snapshot

  1. Under General settings, click Company snapshot.
  2. Select the day of the week and the time of the day (in hour increments) when your organization locks in its weekly forecast.
    Note: This company snapshot setting affects all forecast boards.

Configure deal analytics

  1. Under Deal-related settings, click Deal analytics.
    You will be directed to the deal analytics page where you can configure how analytics gain insight from pipeline trends and forecast movement.
  2. Click Define deal status indicators.
  3. Under Open deals, click Add condition then configure the fields of the condition for the deal.
    Note: An open deal can have multiple conditions.
  4. Under Closed-won deals, click Add condition then configure the fields of the condition for the deal.
    Note: A closed-won deal can have multiple conditions.
  5. Click Set goal.
  6. Select a goal from the dropdown that determines the board's analytics and the scope of its forecast reminders and automatic submissions.
  7. Click Define forecast categories.
    The analytics page will display all forecast categories, including the following pre-existing categories:

  8. To add another category, follow these steps:

  9. To add a condition to a category, click Add condition then configure the fields of the condition for the deal.
  10. To rearrange forecast categories order, click the six dots icon to the left of a category and drag it up or down to the preferred order.
  11. Click Save.

How to manage a board in Forecast

Edit a board

To edit a forecast board, follow these steps:
  1. In the top-right corner, click the more icon then Manage boards.
    The forecast board page will appear.
  2. Scroll down the list or enter the board name in the search field to filter the list.
  3. To the right of the board, click the more icon then Edit.
    The board editing window will appear.
  4. Configure the board settings.
  5. In the top-right corner, click Save.

Duplicate a board

To create a duplicate forecast board, follow these steps:
  1. In the top-right corner, click the more icon then Manage boards.
    The forecast board page will appear.
  2. Scroll down the list or enter the board name in the search field to filter the list.
  3. To the right of the board, click the more icon then Duplicate.
    The board creation window will appear populated with the details from the duplicated board.
  4. (Optional) Configure the board settings.
  5. In the top-right corner, click Save.

Delete a board

To delete a forecast board, follow these steps:
  1. In the top-right corner, click the more icon then Manage boards.
    The forecast board page will appear.
  2. Scroll down the list or enter the board name in the search field to filter the list.
  3. To the right of the board, click the more icon then Delete.
    The delete confirmation dialog will appear.
  4. Click Delete board to permanently remove it.
