Livestreaming meetings or webinars on a custom site

If enabled by your account admin, you can livestream a meeting or webinar to a custom platform. If you configure this before the event, you can begin streaming with one click after your webinar begins.

You can also live stream to YouTube, Twitch, and Facebook.

Note: Livestreaming URLs must be public for Zoom to stream to these servers.

How to set up custom livestreaming

For scheduled Meetings

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
  2. Click Meetings.
  3. Click Schedule a Meeting and enter the required information to schedule a meeting.
  4. Click Save to display a set of tabs with advanced options.
  5. Click the Live Streaming tab, then click Configure custom streaming.
  6. Copy the Stream URL and Stream Key from LinkedIn’s custom stream tool, and paste them into Zoom.
  7. Under Live streaming page URL, copy the link for where you want to drive people to see your stream (i.e. LinkedIn Page or Profile).
  8. (Optional) If the livestreaming service requires authentication, enable the Custom streaming service requires authentication to broadcast. The username and password for this service will be requested during the meeting.
  9. (Optional) Under Resolution, select Standard HD (720P) or Full HD (1080P).
  10. Click Save to save your livestreaming settings.
    The host will be able to livestream this meeting without needing to add these settings after the meeting begins.

For scheduled Webinars

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
  2. Click Webinars.
  3. Click Schedule a Webinar and enter the required information.
  4. Click Schedule to display a set of tabs with advanced options.
  5. Click the forward icon, then click the Live Streaming tab and click Configure custom streaming.
  6. Copy the Stream URL and Stream Key from LinkedIn’s custom stream tool, and paste them into Zoom.
  7. Under Live streaming page URL, copy the link for where you want to drive people to see your stream (i.e. LinkedIn Page or Profile).
  8. (Optional) If the livestreaming service requires authentication, enable the Custom streaming service requires authentication to broadcast. Username and password for this service will be requested during the webinar.

Set up custom livestreaming for LinkedIn

  1. Sign in to the LinkedIn web portal to manage your streams page.
    Note: Sign in to your LinkedIn account no sooner than an hour before your scheduled live stream.
  2. Click Prepare to go live next to your scheduled event.
  3. In the LinkedIn customer stream page, under Stream settings tab, pick your region.
    Note: Not all regions have a dedicated source in the Region dropdown list. If you don’t see your region, you can still go live by selecting the region closest to you. Each region is allocated a certain bandwidth, and sometimes regions run out of available bandwidth. If this happens, try selecting another region close to you.
  4. Click Get URL.

Start the livestreaming from LinkedIn

  1. Access the LinkedIn custom stream web portal.
  2. You should see a preview of your Zoom feed, your audience will not see your feed during the preview.
  3. Make sure to mute from the LinkedIn stream screen (this will allow you to use the microphone and speaker from your Zoom event).
  4. The Preview shows the live feed that you’ve connected on the LinkedIn custom stream page.
  5. Click Go live when you’re ready to live stream. This will broadcast the event to your audience.
  6. Click End stream when you're done streaming.
    Note: The replay will be available on your LinkedIn Event page shortly after ending the stream.
