Viewing call history and recordings

If you have Zoom Phone activated on your account, you can use the Zoom app to view your call history, including missed and answered incoming calls and outgoing calls. If you have enabled contacts integration, you can also create a new contact from a call history entry.

How to view call history and recordings

Windows | macOS | Linux
  1. Sign in to the Zoom desktop app.
  2. Click the Phone tab .
  3. Click the History tab.
    The most recent call history will be displayed at the top.
    Note: Learn more about identifying call history entries.
  4. Click the dropdown menu below the tabs to filter call history entries by missed or recorded calls.
  5. In the top-right corner, click Edit to select several entries at once, then click Delete to delete those entries. If a confirmation window appears, click Delete.
    Note: You are permanently deleting selected history. This action cannot be undone.
  6. Hover your mouse over a call history entry for these options:
    Note: If the caller hid their caller ID, you can only delete the entry.
    • Hover your mouse over the profile picture for additional options if the phone number belongs to an internal, external, or synced contact.
      • For internal and external Zoom contacts, you'll see the user's contact card and additional options to Chat or Meet.
      • For synced contacts, you'll see a general contact card with the name of the third-party service and all the phone numbers added to that contact.
    • Click the phone icon to call the selected number.
    • If the call was recorded, click the play icon to play the associated recording.
    • Click the ellipses for these options:
      • Meet with Video / Meet without Video / Chat (these options are only visible if the phone number belongs to an internal or external Zoom contact): Start an instant meeting with the contact.
      • Chat: Start a 1-on-1 chat with the contact.
      • Send Text Message (only visible if you have SMS enabled): Send an SMS message to the number.
      • Share call details: Share the call details with another contact and add a personal note. For the call details and personal message, you can choose to Save for later or immediately Share.
        Note: You must have the Zoom Phone Power Pack add-on to use this feature.
      • Star This Contact (only visible if the number belongs to your internal contacts): Add the contact to your starred contacts, allowing you to easily call them.
      • Copy Number: Copy the associated phone number to your system's clipboard.
      • Create contact: Create a contact for this number.
      • Add to contact: Add number ot existing contact.
      • Create Google Contact / Create Outlook Contact (only visible if you enabled contacts integration): Create a new Google or Outlook contact using the call history entry. The new contact will appear in the Contacts tab. Access the contact in Google or Outlook if you need to further edit contact details.
      • Add to Google Contact / Add to Outlook Contact (only visible if you enabled contacts integration): Add the associated phone number to an existing synced contact. Access the contact in Google or Outlook if you need to further edit contact details.
      • Invite as Zoom Contact: Send an invite by specifying the email address of the call participant. They will receive an email with a unique link to add you to their Zoom contacts. Use this feature as an alternative to contacts integration if your contact has a Zoom account.
      • View Profile (only visible if the number belongs to your internal or synced contacts): View details of the associated caller.
      • Block number: Add the phone number to your blocked list. Choose if you're blocking the number because of Spam calls or Other reasons.
      • Download (only visible if the call was recorded): Save the recording as an MP3 file.
      • Delete: Delete the selected call history entry. If there's a call recording, it will be deleted as well.
      • Delete all voicemail: Permanently delete all your voicemail.
        Note: This action cannot be undone.
      • Translate to: Configure your Translation settings and select the language to which you want the call recording or call summary to be translated.
      • Transcribe to: Select the language to which you want your call recording to be transcribed.
      • Clear All Call History: Delete all call history entries. All call recordings will also be deleted.
      • Call Duration: Displays the duration of the call in minutes and seconds (mm:ss).
Android | iOS
  1. Sign in to the Zoom mobile app.
  2. Tap the Phone tab.
  3. Tap the History tab.
    The most recent call history will be displayed at the top.
    Note: Learn more about identifying call history entries.
  4. Use these options to manage your call history and recordings:
    Note: If the caller hid their caller ID, you can only select or delete the entry.
    • Tap Edit in the top-right corner to select and delete several entries at once.
    • Tap the ellipses for these options:
      • Call Duration: Displays the duration of the call in minutes and seconds (mm:ss).
      • Call Back: Calls the number associated with the call history entry. You can also tap the phone number in the call history to call it.
      • Meet with Video / Meet without Video / Chat (these options are only visible if the phone number belongs to an internal or external Zoom contact): Start an instant meeting or 1-on-1 chat with the contact.
      • Send Text Message (only visible If you have SMS enabled): Send an SMS message to the number.
      • Share call details: Share the call details with another contact and add a personal note. For the call details and personal message, you can choose to Save for later or immediately Share.
        Note: You must have the Zoom Phone Power Pack add-on to use this feature.
      • Star this contact (only visible if the number belongs to your internal contacts): Add the contact to your starred contacts, allowing you to easily call them.

      • View Profile: View the contact card if the associated phone number belongs to an internal, external, or synced contact.
        • For internal and external Zoom contacts, you'll see the user's contact card and additional options to chat or meet.

      • Create contact: Use your phone's default contacts app to create a new phone contact using the associated phone number. This option is not available for internal, external, or synced contacts.

      • Delete Item: Delete the selected call history entry. If there's a call recording, it will be deleted as well.
    • If a call was recorded, tap Recording for these options:
      • Phone icon: Call the number associated with the call recording.
      • Share icon : Share or save the call recording file (MP3). You may see different share options depending on the apps installed on your phone.
      • Play icon : Play the selected call recording. Tap Speaker to use your speakerphone for playback.
      • Trash icon : Delete the selected call recording.
Web

View personal call history

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
  2. Click Phone.
  3. Click the History tab.
  4. Use the search options at the top to filter call history by date or contact. You can also click the column headings to sort entries.
  5. Identify calls using the following:
    • If the number has a caller ID name or belongs to the same organization, you'll see a name above the number.
      Note: If you enabled contacts integration, you will not see sync contacts' names when viewing call history in the web portal. View call history in the Zoom desktop client to identify your synced contacts.
    • Outgoing calls have this icon beside the contact's name or number:
    • See the Result column to identify if the call status (connected, canceled, no answer, or recorded).
    • View the Summary column to see if call summary was used. If call summary was used during the call, click View More to view the full call summary (including the quick recap, next steps, and summary from AI Companion).
      • Use the following actions:
        • Share : Share the summary with another user.
          The current version of the summary will be sent, and no other version.
        • Copy : To copy the summary and next step.
          The summary will be saved to your clipboard for you to paste where you need.
        • Edit : To manually edit the summary as needed.
          Note: You can edit both the Summary and Next Steps that were generated.
        • Delete : To delete the summary.
        • Translate to: Configure your Translation settings and select the language to which you want the call summary to be translated.
    • If you answered a call from a call queue, you will see the call queue name in the Call Result column. Click Details in the last column to see the call queue details.
    • (Optional) When playing the recording, click the Translate to option to configure your Translation settings and select the language to which you want the recording to be translated.
    • The entry will display Anonymous for calls that do not have a caller ID (the caller hid their caller ID name and number).
  6. Use these options to manage your call history:
    • Click Delete to delete the call history entry.
    • To delete several entries at once, click the checkbox beside the contact name/number and click Delete at the top of the table.
    • To add phone numbers to your blocked list, click the checkbox beside the contact name/number and click Block at the top of the table.
  7. (Optional) In the top-right corner, click Trash to manage deleted recordings.
    Notes:
    • Items you have deleted will be saved in the trash for 28 days. Items deleted by the data retention policy will not appear here.
    • You can choose to recover or permanently delete the recordings.

View personal call recordings

  1. Sign in to the Zoom web portal.
  2. Click Phone.
  3. Click the Recording tab.
  4. Use the search options at the top to filter call history by date or contact. You can also click the column headings to sort entries.
  5. Click the following options to view and manage recordings:
    • Play icon : Play the voicemail message and display a transcript of the voicemail message if Zoom Phone was able to transcribe it.
      • (Optional) When playing the recording, click the Translate to option to configure your Translation settings and select the language to which you want the recording to be translated.
  6. Use these options to manage your recordings:
    • Click Delete to delete the recording entry.
    • To delete several entries at once, click the checkbox beside the contact name/number and click Delete at the top of the table.
  7. (Optional) In the top-right corner, click Trash to manage deleted recordings.
    Notes:
    • Items you have deleted will be saved in the trash for 28 days. Items deleted by the data retention policy will not appear here.
    • You can choose to recover or permanently delete the recordings.
Zoom Web App

Follow these steps to view call history and save call recordings.

  1. Sign in to the Zoom Web App.
  2. Click the Phone tab .
  3. Click the History tab.
    The most recent call history will display at the top.

  5. Hover over a call history entry for these options:

      • Clear All Call History: Delete all call history entries. All call recordings will also be deleted.
      • Call Duration: Displays the duration of the call in minutes and seconds (mm:ss).
 

How to identify call history entries in the desktop app, mobile app, or Zoom Web App

Caller ID

Note: Synced contacts are currently not supported on Linux, Zoom Web App, Android, and iOS. If you're using the Zoom mobile app and have enabled phone contacts matching, the name in your phone's default contacts app will display instead of the caller's caller ID name.
