Guidelines for Vanity URL requests
A Vanity URL is a custom Zoom subdomain for your organization, such as yourcompany.zoom.us. You can request one that matches your company's domain or select a suggested Vanity URL from Zoom. A Vanity URL is required if you plan to turn on Single Sign-On (SSO), because it is the address where your users sign in through your identity provider. You can also customize this landing page with your own logo and branding. The Vanity URL landing page is separate from webinar registration and waiting rooms, which are branded individually.
If your account already has a Vanity URL and you need it changed, contact Zoom Support. Your new Vanity URL must meet the same requirements as a new request.
Requirements for Vanity URL requests
- Business, Education, Enterprise, Zoom Phone only, or Zoom Contact Center only plan
- Account owner or admin
- A custom domain owned by your organization
Note: Widely used, generic domains, such as @gmail.com or @outlook.com, cannot be used
Guidelines and requirements for Vanity URLs
- You can apply for your Vanity URL at https://zoom.us/account
- You must submit a Vanity URL request from your official domain and not a public domain (gmail.com, hotmail.com, etc.)
- Vanity URLs must match your company's domain name. For example:
- "hooli.com" must apply for "hooli.zoom.us".
- “hooli.org” must apply for “hooli-org.zoom.us”
- “hooli.com.au” must apply for “hooli-au.zoom.us”
- “hooli.org.au” must apply for “hooli-org-au.zoom.us”
- "hooli.edu" must apply for "hooli-edu.zoom.us"
- If you submit your request from name@hoolicompany.com and request hooli.zoom.us, you must submit evidence that you own hooli.com
- If you need a vanity URL for a sub-account or department, it must contain the department name and the organization's domain name.
- For example, if you need a vanity URL for your IT department, you must request "hooli-it.zoom.us".
- Vanity URLs must be at least 4 characters in length (https://1234.zoom.us).
Note: Vanity URL requests with fewer than 4 characters are not supported and will not be approved. - Vanity URLs must only contain letters, numbers, and dashes (-).
- You can select from pre-defined Vanity URLs that Zoom suggests based on your account information.
- Vanity URLs conforming to the guidelines will be approved within 3 business days. Non-conforming Vanity URLS will be declined or approved within 4-5 business days. Notifications will be sent to the email address of the user who requested the URL.
- We reserve the right to remove or change your Vanity URL if there is a conflict between 2 companies for the same Vanity URL. You will be notified prior to any changes.
Multiple vanity URLs
Accounts with multiple domains, such as unique divisions and subsidiaries, can request and have multiple vanity URLs for each domain they own and manage, all under one Zoom account. Admins can customize each vanity URL's landing page, assign user groups a specific vanity URL, which affects the meeting join links for those users, and configure an Identity Provider (IdP) for each vanity URL.
This feature must be enabled by Zoom, and each additional vanity URL must follow the same guidelines detailed above to be approved by Zoom.
Please work with Zoom Support to enable multiple vanity URLs or multiple IDPs once the support ticket is opened. Enabling multiple vanity URLs or IDPs will change the SP entity ID field for your existing SSO. Schedule a downtime for your SSO and coordinate the time with Zoom support to enable this feature. Account admins are required to update the SSO configuration in the Zoom web portal and also update the IDP configuration with the new SP entity id.
How to change an existing Vanity URL
If your account has already been approved for a Vanity URL, but you need to change it, please contact Zoom Support.
The new Vanity URL will need to conform to the guidelines above, and you must inform Zoom Support if you require the previous Vanity URL to redirect to the new Vanity URL. This is important if you still have active meeting links with the previous Vanity URL and want to ensure they still work without resending invites with the updated link.
After the new Vanity URL is approved, you will also need to adjust the SSO settings with the new Vanity URL, as well as sign in again to any scheduling extensions or plugins.
