Managing the hub Video Channels tab


The Video Channels tab is a centralized location where live and on-demand content can be stored. Hub users can curate a list of videos that can be hosted on Zoom Events or embedded on a third-party website. Published channels can appear along events on the hub profile page for attendees to view.

Prerequisites for managing the hub Video Channels tab

Note: For access to the latest Zoom Events and Webinar features, we strongly recommend hosts to update to the latest version of the Zoom desktop client/mobile application.

How to access the hub Video Channels tab

  1. Sign in to Zoom Events.
  2. In the left navigation menu, click the top dropdown arrow and select the hub you want to manage.
  3. In the left navigation menu, click Video Channels.

To view published channels, click the Published/Active tab. To view drafted channels (unpublished), click the Draft tab.

Note: For first-time users, the types of videos will be displayed directly for users to start with.

How to manage the Video Channels tab

  1. Access the hub Video Channels tab.
  2. Click the Published/Active tab.
    You can view your drafted channels by clicking the Draft tab.
  3. View the following information on the page:
    • Channel Name: The name of the channel.
    • Videos: The number of videos within the channel.
    • Channel Type: Displays the type of channel.
    • Publish to Hub: Click the toggle to enable or disable it. Enabling this will make the channel visible to attendees on the hub profile page.
      Notes:
      • This function is disabled until at least one recording has been added to the playlist. 
      • This toggle does not appear for embedded channels.
    • Last Modified: The date and time that the channel was last modified.
    • Created By: The name and email address of the person who created the channel will be displayed.

Manage your channels

  1. Access the hub Video Channels tab.
  2. Click the Published/Active tab.
  3. To the right of the channel you want to manage, complete the following actions:
    • Edit: To the right of a channel you want to edit, click Edit
    • More : Click the ellipsis , then select from the following options:
      • View Channel Detail Page: Preview the channel's detail page.
      • View Channel Analytics: View the channel's metrics and analytics.
      • Delete Channel: Remove the channel from the Video Channels tab.

Search for channels

  1. Access the hub Video Channels tab.
  2. Use the search bar to find a channel.

Sort channels

  1. Access the hub Video Channels tab.
  2. At the top of the page, click the dropdown menus, then select how you want to sort the channels.

Filter channels

  1. Access the hub Video Channels tab.
  2. At the top of the page, click the dropdown menus, then select a filter.

How to create a channel

Your video content will be hosted on the Zoom Events platform.

  1. Access the hub Video Channels tab.
  2. In the top-right corner, click + Create Channel.
  3. Select the type of channel to create:
    • Zoom Events Experience: Your video content will be hosted on the Zoom Events platform.
    • Embedded Single Video: A single video can be embedded on a third-party website.
  4. Complete the video channel creation sections.

After you create a channel, you can use different tabs in the channel creation setup to customize and organize your video channel.

How to manage a Zoom Event Experience channel

Publish a channel

  1. Create a channel.
  2. After completing the channel's information, in the top-right corner, click Publish Channel 
    A panel will appear.
  3. In the panel, review the following information before you publish the channel:
    • Channel Link: The channel URL will be generated after you publish.
    • Make this channel visible on the hub: Click the toggle to enable or disable it. Enabling this will make the channel visible to attendees on the hub profile page.
  4. Click Publish.
    The video channel will appear in the hub Video Channels tab's Published tab.

Retrieve channel link

  1. Publish a channel.
  2. In the top-right corner of the channel setup, click Channel Link
    A panel will appear.
  3. In the panel, under Channel Link, click Copy Link.

You can use the channel link to provide a URL to the channel detail page.
Note: The channel link does not link to the channel's hub.

Make channel visible on the hub

  1. Publish a channel.
  2. In the top-right corner of the channel setup, click Channel Link
    A panel will appear.
  3. In the panel, click the Make this channel visible on the hub toggle to enable or disable it.
    Enabling this will make the channel visible to attendees on the hub profile page.

How to manage an Embedded Single Video channel

Embed and share

  1. Create a channel.
  2. In the top-right corner of the channel setup, click Embed & Share.
    A panel will appear.
  3. In the panel, manage the following settings:
    • Under Embed Options, select from the following options:
      • Inline: Play the video on the webpage, aligning with its content.
      • Popover: Play the video over the content on the webpage in a pop-up window.
    • Under Video size, select from the following options:
      • Responsive: The video will resize to fit its container.
      • Fix size: The video will remain at a fixed size.
    • Under Preview, preview how your embedded video will appear to attendees.
    • Click Copy to copy the script.
      Note: Contact your account manager to get the domain of your on-demand video approved before using the script. Hub users can configure and submit domains for Video On Demand (VOD) embedded content. The domain of the website must be approved by Zoom and activated in advance. When hub users copy the script from their embedded video channel, the script will allow the specified, approved website access to the video content stored at Zoom.
  4. When you're finished managing Embed & Share settings, click Close.

How to edit a channel

  1. Access the hub Video Channels tab.
  2. To the right of a video channel you want to edit, click Edit.
    The video channel creation setup will appear.

How to delete a channel

  1. Access the hub Video Channels tab.
  2. To the right of the channel you want to remove, click the ellipsis , then click Delete Channel.
    A confirmation window will appear.
  3. In the confirmation window, click Delete
    The channel will be removed from the Video Channels tab.

Note: Once deleted, this action cannot be undone and your channel cannot be recovered.
